Bar Arepera El Encuentro — Restaurant in Santa Cruz de la Palma

I have been in this place 4 times during my stay. Not that I was thrilled by the food but I found couple of simple things I'd like to eat.

The last time I was there it was before my flight so I wanted to kill some time. I stayed less than one an a half hour and during the time I ordered 2 different dishes and 3 drinks so they don't think I am a cheap f..r just occupying their table.

And I also made sure that there were always empty tables and there were 3-4 empty tables all the time.

At the end of the time I got served the bill without asking with a plain "sorry", whatever that means?!

Super rude...

I have ordered el pabillo, except the egg nothing was edible (a lot of beans out of a tin and white, unseasoned rice, bananas, not plantain bananas, caramelised with a lot of sugar, sickly sweet, the meat consisted of 80-100 g pulled pork a and sauce, pretty stringy). Nothing to do with south American flavours or with any flavours! The second choice was 1/2 m sausage, which was average, a bit dry. Came with cheap mayo, not allioli, not mustard, nothing. Fui el día de ayer 24-08-2025 y lamentablemente me arrepiento de ir porque fue una experiencia muy mala, al llegar nos tomaron el pedido casi enseguida y luego de traer las bebidas nos hicieron esperar 40 mnts para traer unos tequeños que por cierto no están buenos de gusto y luego nos hicieron esperar unos 10 mnts más por unas arepas que pedidos antes que los tequeños. Al llegar las arepas ,no me gusto el apesto porque no son nada provocativas, ( nada que ver con la imagen referencial del menú), muy finas y sin gusto y el pollo tenía demasiados colorante y a la arepa de mi pareja que era de carne mechada, le pusieron relleno solo hasta la mitad de la arepa y al momento de el pedirle al camarero que cambiará la arepa porque la entregaron con la mitad vacía, su actitud fue desagradable y le dijo a la compañera creo que cocinera que la cambiará pero con mala cara y mal trato, luego la compañera salió a mí mesa y me dijo con una actitud bastante ostil que ellos tenían su cantidad asignada para cada arepa y trajo la arepa casi que igual como se la llevó. El punto es para trabajan en algo que nos les gusta? O porque venden comida que no saben preparar?. Cero recomendando este restaurante, primero por el mal trato, segundo porque demoran demasiado en atender y tercero porque lo que prove no me dieron ganas de volver a degustar ningún...
