A Delightful Dining Experience at Restaurante La Placeta in La Palma
During my trip to La Palma, I had the pleasure of dining at Restaurante La Placeta, located in a charming shopping street in the heart of Santa Cruz. The restaurant boasts a beautiful and cozy terrace, perfect for enjoying a meal while soaking in the lively atmosphere of the city.
The menu at La Placeta was impressive, with a good selection of dishes catering to various dietary preferences, including vegan and vegetarian options. Every dish was beautifully presented and tasted just as good as it looked, all at affordable prices which was a pleasant surprise.
The ambiance was lively yet comfortable, making it a great spot for both locals and tourists looking to enjoy a good meal in a friendly setting. The restaurant was bustling with a good energy that added to the overall dining experience.
I highly recommend Restaurante La Placeta to anyone visiting Santa Cruz. Whether you are looking for meat, vegan, or vegetarian cuisine, this place will not disappoint with its quality food, lovely setting, and...

The wine was, to be fair excellent but the food was pretty shoddy. I had the mussels to start, some of the largest I've ever seen I have to say but grilled too much so were a little dry. My wife had the grilled cheese with mojo which was ok, but we'd had equally good at half the price in tapas bars nearby. Moving on to the mains I wanted the rabbit (a local speciality with almonds etc apparently), but this was sold out so I went for the lamb. The sauce with this was so sweet it was ridiculous, and the chips were over salted. My wife had the duck which again was way too sweet. Both of these are fatty meats so need something acidic to compliment them, basic cheffing 101!! Service was pretty slow as well (though to be fair the whole island lives at a slower pace). One of the priciest meals we had whilst on the island and definitely...

Our food was tasty - vegetable and shrimp crepe with bechamel sauce, sirloin tips in gravy, and a starter of fried goat cheese with tomato jam (the highlight of our order). Their barraquito was decent, and we enjoyed a bottle of the house Verdeho wine. After waiting quite awhile to have a server come out, we finally got his attention and asked for the check. TWENTY minutes later we gave up waiting and went to the counter and paid. Servers were frequently in and out for the first part of our visit, and then they literally disappeared for 10-15 minutes at a time. When one breezed out, multiple patrons tried waving them down with requests. This meal had started off so...
