This place has the same problem as many more recently: non professional waiters. If I were waiting tables I would try to do as few trips as possible between the kitchen and the tables, not only to serve my customers better, but also to save myself from extra walking. I would bring drinks to a table, deliver menu to a second for them to order and take empty glasses/plates from a third back inside. This is now 3 or more trips in any bar now. I see them walking around empty handed, or making trips with just a menu in their hands. Today I had to get up again myself to get cutlery and napkins, because we got our food delivered to the table and we were never given the cutlery, nor napkins to wipe our mouths off the grease of the food we had ordered. Also, we sat down and 2 waitresses saw us, but decided to clean 2 other tables, take note of the order and bring the order to them (6-8 trips) before attending us. I was not in a hurry, but... this is not nice. One of the waitresses was very friendly and I'm sorry for her, because I decided not to tip because of the overall experience. All in all the same experience in many places nowadays. Lately I end up going inside myself to pickup my drinks, cutlery...
Read moreMy family and I took a day trip to Santander and we were looking to get a quick bite before driving back to our hotel when we stumbled upon this restaurant, loving the atmosphere from the beautiful windows. We were extremely impressed! We learned from the friendly staff that the restaurant had only opened the week before. For a new restaurant, they sure had their act together. Our waiter Guillermo was very attentive and even advised us against ordering as much as we had selected (he was right -- we got full quickly!). The food was delicious — we got the goat cheese salad (the goat cheese was fantastic), the empadanillas (delicious but served a bit too hot), the tacos de atún (great flavouring), and the entrecot (could have been warmer but tasted great — the peppers and potatoes were a good addition). Sauces were flavourful, and we were impressed by the extensive bread basket. Prices were great and the design was sleek. Great location as well, in the center of the city. We would recommend Salitre to anyone looking for a contemporary restaurant...
Read moreMuy decepcionado .
