We stayed in the Marina so wanted to check out the amazing food on offer nearby. Bocana proved to be out absolute favourite.
We headed there on our second night desperate to try some tapas. We received a brilliant welcome from a very smiley manager and were shown to our table. We dabbled in various of the old tapas favourites - patatas bravas, calamari - and also tried a few different things too. The scallops were absolutely to die for and the beef tacos were incredible to taste and easy on the eye too.
That visit was so good we decided to return for our last night on Saturday. My girlfriend had a lovely pizza while I decided it'd be rude not to go for a seafood option given where we were. I had the most incredible grilled turbot. Locally sourced, it was cooked to absolute perfection and is one of the most stunning meals I've had all year.
The staff here are absolutely brilliant, too. We were lucky to be served on both occasions by the fantastic Jose. A man who clearly loves his job, he made for an extremely welcoming, entertaining and enjoyable evening. A superb, brilliant, first class restaurant...
Read moreWow. Totally join all the other five star rating. Best place we been in Mallorca so far! We started with some nice drinks in happy hour. My partner didn't enjoy one of his, so they made him a new one. Sadly it wasn't to his liking either and with a real genuine concern they wanted him to choose something else. They really want the customer to be happy. Service like this is sadly rare these days especially in many "tourist places". This place really step it up. Since we enjoyed the place we stayed for dinner too. So glad we did. The food was amazing! Finally some really good authentic Spanish food. The chef is apparently from Madrid and maybe that's why the quality stands out! Absolutely worth the walk around the habour if you live on the other side of cala d'or! The iberico ham crouquettes were very tasty, the zucchini flower amazing and the burrata...
Read moreTruly a mid experience. You'll only eat if you're hungry or feel bad about the money you spent on the food.
Based on the other reviews, I expected to eat the best paella of my life. I got the mixed paella. Unfortunately, it was a solid 5/10. I don't know if it was just an off day or if the previous reviewers have low standards, but I did not enjoy my meal here and neither did the others in my party.
The cheesecake was also highly recommended by other reviewers. I hoped it would redeem the paella, but it was not good. It was very cheesy and had no crust. Maybe someone likes it that way but my table did not :(
Good location though. We asked for the check twice. We waited a long time while we could see the servers gathering ice? It was just okay. I would recommend eating at another place on the marina if you want...
