Unfortunate day! My 4 friends & I had the opportunity to visit Santanyí Markets whilst visiting Cala D’or which I must say were lovely. Whilst there, we sat down for some refreshments at Ca Na Pou. It was right in the heart of the market so an ideal spot to take a break in the sun. We situated ourselves outside as it was busy inside. The food was lovely, however things took an unfortunate turn as we got up to leave. My friend stood up, turned to walk to the toilets & tripped over an umbrella stand which was not in sight. It was firmly fixed to the ground at ankle height so not easily visible. This was a metal stand with screws either side. Unfortunately she ended up with a nasty tear to her shin. As you can imagine she was shocked & in pain. As we comforted her the staff had no idea how to deal with the situation. We’d already paid our bill & they just wanted us to leave as quick as possible, with just a plaster! There was a gash in my friends leg (8cm) & we were struggling to stop the bleeding. In the end after asking for a first aid box, prompting for antiseptic & bandages, we managed to get her comfortable enough to sit inside for a while to get herself together. No one came to check on her, there were no apologies. This accident could have been avoided by either covering the stands with something or removing them altogether if the restaurant are not using the umbrellas. There definitely needs to be someone who is first aid trained too in such a busy place. I understand it’s not the UK & things are done differently abroad. However, lessons should be learnt from this, hence me posting this review. As I’ve said we couldn’t fault the food but our experience wasn’t good & we wanted to make people aware of the dangers. My friend ended up with, shards of metal in her leg, 12 stitches, a tetanus & will probably have a scar on the front of her leg. Good job she was...
Read moreUnfortunately, our visit to this restaurant was disappointing. We ordered a burger, patatas bravas and the chicken croquettes. The burger was actually quite good – well-seasoned and properly cooked. However, the real issue was with the croquettes. When you see "chicken croquettes" on the menu, you expect them to contain at least some actual chicken. What we got instead were croquettes filled only with béchamel – not a trace of meat inside. When we politely brought this up with the staff, they insisted that there was chicken in them, even though it was clearly just béchamel. Instead of trying to resolve the situation or even offer a proper explanation, they laughed it off and said, "Of course there’s béchamel in them," in a rather dismissive tone.
On top of that, the patatas bravas were very underwhelming – bland, soggy, and clearly thrown together without much care.
Overall, we were disappointed not just with the food quality (and misleading menu descriptions), but especially with the attitude of the staff. We definitely won’t be...
Read moreI wouldn’t recommend. Bread was fresh and warm, food was mediocre, drink prices are decent and that’s about it. The service we received was very poor, with a lack of communication. Our server was forgetful, inattentive, and had a passive aggressive attitude. We were not given a drink menu until the time the server came to take our food order. She didn’t proactively inform us that our initial choices were sold out until we ordered the items despite having a smaller menu. When I asked to leave a menu for us to choose another item, she said that they needed it and to ask for it later, which didn’t make sense as that’s what I was asking, plus it wasn’t busy at that time. Hard pass for us. Negative vibes is not what you want while trying to have a nice dinner with your significant other...
