An unusual steak house experience. A ‘cow’ steak with one price, and no guidance on cuts like fillet, sirloin, rib eye or tee bone was not what we expected. I like my steak rare, while my wife likes medium, so sharing a 'cow' steak, the only option offered to us, was less than optimal. Price was OK, and the quality of the meat was good, but just not suitable if in a couple liking different cuts cooked differently. Also, we were at the earliest sitting on a saturday evening, and one of the desert options, a tiramisu, was not available which was bizarre. Not a special meal, which is what we were hoping for having just completed the camino. venue and service really good, but lack of choice on steaks very disappointing. plenty of better, tastier and cheaper food options in santiago. you will be disappointed if you normally frequent steak houses elsewhere in other...
Read moreDuring our stay in Santiago, my husband and I planned to go to Asador Gonzaba to have some delicious meat. The food at this restaurant was genuinely good, but unfortunately, the experience was overshadowed by disappointing service and long wait times. Compared to so many other places in Santiago, this one left us with no positive or memorable feelings. The staff’s attention was noticeably uneven, with some guests receiving significantly more focus than others, which felt disrespectful. While the dishes were well-prepared, the lack of attentiveness and warmth in the service took away from the enjoyment of the meal. Sadly, this is the only place in Santiago we don’t...

🔥 A disappointing experience at Asador Gonzaba 🔥
I just visited Asador Gonzaba and while the food had potential, several issues completely ruined the experience. I ordered a beef ribeye which was delicious, but the side of vegetables arrived 10 minutes later, and what a disappointment! They were too acidic and included potatoes, something no one warned me about. And the meat... they serve it without any sides, and you have to pay extra for them! 🤯
But that's not all. The water was "locally filtered," and we were charged for it without any prior notice. In Galicia, having to pay for filtered water without being informed is just bad practice.
To top it all off, my partner’s dish arrived at the end of the meal. Seriously? How does that even happen? 🤦♂️
In summary, while some dishes were fine, the lack of customer attention and details that should have been mentioned left us with a bad taste...
