Camino Travel Center — Local services in Santiago de Compostela

I would highly recommend Camino Travel Center if you want to walk the Camino De Santiago in Spain. We just got back from our trip and the travel arrangements, hotels, and luggage transfers were excellent and professionally handled at all times.

We decided on Camino Travel Center because we thought it was important to have a locally based travel operator- one on the same time zone, from the area, knows the local customs and knows each town and hotels well. You just can't do this if you are operating from UK or USA.

They listened to our needs and budget and prepared a perfect trip, where we walked approx 162 miles in 12 travel days, with some rest days in the middle in Burgos and at the end in Santiago.

All our hotels were 3 star or better, but had nice local charm, and great breakfasts. They were also VERY close to the Camino trail- some right out the front door, in fact.

They checked in with us periodically, and were always available on WhatsApp. All our luggage was perfectly transferred from hotel to hotel.

We had one snafu, were a Renfe train was delayed 3 hours and we missed our connection from Madrid to Sarria. We reached out to Camino Travel and they were able to arrange for a private driver to meet us at the Ourense train station and transport us to Sarria so that we arrived at 5:30pm not 9:45pm, which would have been the case with the local train schedule. This is the type of situation only a locally based travel operator could handle, and Camino Travel handled it perfectly.

We have used them twice already and we have recommended their service to many friends! Their service is seamless. If anything goes wrong, which sometimes happens in group vacations, they are there for you 24/7. It’s a travel agency that doesn’t leave you stranded. In our last Camino, before we even started, our flights were cancelled and we lost our connecting flights to Santiago. It had nothing to do with the Camino Travel Center, but I had to change our transportation to Sarria with a few hours notice. Wiktoria was available at 9pm and reorganized all my groups’ taxis with speed and patience. She also helped me with our car rental for the days after we finished our Camino, out of complete kindness.
