Visited twice, really wished we didn’t return!! We did because we quite enjoyed first visit, busy restaurant, good atmosphere. 2nd time not the case!! Main waiter brisk manner came across as rude!! He really didn't care about tourists spending their hard earned money!! Menu items not available, no apology offered, the waiter made the customer feel guilty for ordering something on the menu that they actually wanted to eat!! Watched people having been sat down, waiting to be served they got up & walked out! Witnessed wrong orders being taken to wrong tables, waiters had an indifferent attitude!! There are other restaurants around that value their guests, go elsewhere don’t put yourself through the agony & frustration we went through!! Spend your money enjoying your food, where the staff actually care if you have a good time, enjoy your food and receive great hospitality, all of which do not happen naturally at this restaurant!! The only reason I gave this restaurant a 2star was for the wine, which even though more expensive on this restaurant menu, we enjoyed. Good job too as we left, haven eaten out food for 40 mins until our table was cleared. The waiter seemed surprised that we didn’t want to order a dessert, hence we were left again to our own devices!! It’s a shame as the restaurant is located on a popular ‘walk through’ and gets a lot of passing trade, out the staff certainly do not appreciate their customers, and rarely offer any service or hospitality that their guests should be given. My recommendation would be go elsewhere and be treated as you deserve, politely, with respect & enjoying great hospitality all of which are lacking at this restaurant. Enjoy your holiday eating...
Read moreI don't often leave bad reviews but this experience needs documenting. The place and where it is situated is lovely. We've been several times before and never had a problem. Sadly this time, not so much. The staff are Rude! They are not friendly, ignorant and confrontational when anyone asks something. One staff member got very anomated with another table because they questioned the bill. The waiters were arguing between themselves, stomping round like stroppy children, with faces to match. They are incredibly rude when you ask them anything, constantly looking angry and unapproachable. I myself had to ask for the bill for a table of three elderly ladies, as they kept be ignored. They then waited another 30min for it to arrive. The youngest of the three waiters took our order; I was shhhed and tutted at when asking for potatoes instead of chips. When my food arrived it was the wrong pork dish and no potatoes in sight. We also didn't have any knives and forks. It took us nearly 10min to get someones attention. I stood up to find some and was took to sit back down. It took us a further 25min for the bill to arrive, after asking twice! At this point, I began to feel unwell and just wanted to go! They charged us for bread we didn't ask for, even the butter they threw in the basket. We had another item listed under salsa and had no idea what that was. I'll be honest, we paid and did not question due to me feeling poorly. I've been sick for around 32hrs now but slowly feeling better. Sadly after many years of us coming to this restaurant. We will not return. They seriously need to consider whether they should continue this venture, as they are...
Read more9/25/24- In Tenerife, late for dinner hour, most places close at 9, not Buganvilla- the kitchen closes at 10pm. The host apologized that only inside was available. The outer tables, all full. We sat inside, the only people inside actually. We had a view of the whole operation. The Owner behind the bar, the waiter who was non stop helping customers, I wish I remembered his name- super nice guy. We ordered, we were brought bread and our drinks in moments. We can see the chef and his kitchen. This guy is all over the place! Making this, checking that, asking about out bound orders. He took getting people's meals out, and if they enjoyed it his business. The food comes out, literally off the grill, to our plates, and directly walked to us. Smelled incredible, looked perfect. It was really good. You could taste the care. Almost finished, the chef walks over to ask if all was good. We expressed our thanks in broken spanish at best. He asked if we were British? Nope, from America. Near D.C. in Maryland. He was surprised- Americans. He introduced himself- Levine? I hope I got that right. He has a heavy accent. Really nice guy, told us of his homeland Cuba, and his family in Florida. He asked us to hold on from leaving, returns with brandy styled glasses with a liqueur. He joined us and toasted. I'm thinking this guy is so great to his customers. I find out the next day- he is one of the Owners, he and his wife. So, if in Los Gigantes, Tenerife you really need to check this place out- great food- great conversation. Enjoy!
