I’m really mixed on this place. The decor is adorable and i like the “slow food” philosophy but ultimately it’s about the food. We were really looking forward to a high quality meal- not that we haven’t been eating well vía all the wonderful tapas bars in Sevilla. But sometimes you just want something a little more elevated. We didn’t flinch at the prices, double your average restaurant but not unreasonable. Menus are brought on a chalkboard, and the waitress reads you the entire menu- cute, but it seems to take up a lot of time and slow down general service. And despite the fact that we are Americans, our Spanish is not too shabby so we didn’t really need to entire menu translated and read in English to us as a default. The service is a side note, as food and drink came quickly enough. The beer selection here includes a few local breweries- which is a nice change from the usual suspects of Alhambra and Cruz Campo. To get to the important bits- the first course we had- the duck and rice- was excellent. And we were excited for the next course- the cuttlefish. This is where things go south- this was a bad 17 euro dish. Really bad. The cuttlefish was served whole, which is relatively normal- but the fins were not removed. These are pretty gross pieces of chewy muscle and are not usually served. We had to slice those off but still had pieces of them in our meal. It was tough, thick, and chewy, and served in a cream sauce. No bueno. After that we passed on desserts. Anyway, could just be an aberration. The first course was great, the beer was...
Read moreAs real foodies, myself and my friends were looking forward to trying this restaurant. Unfortunately, after the waitress explained the menu, selling us an incredible dining experience, we were very underwhelmed by the food. In general, it lacked flavour (frozen??) and seasoning. The tomato & smoked sardine salad was fresh, but the sardines lacked smokiness and flavour. The salmon tartar promised mango and citrus of which there was none that we could detect. The salmon was tastless, a tad chewy and again, unseasoned. The comfi duck with crispy rice was the best dish. The sauce was tasty, but only some of the rice was crispy. There were supposed to be mushrooms, of which none were evident. The tuna was awful. Apart from it being overcooked, we were served the black, bloody part of the fish that should be removed. I couldn't eat it. It was served with broccoli, nothing else. The venison, too, was tastless, served with braised cabbage, which bits of were dried, and I couldn't even chew. Where were the "chocolate" flavours promised!? We didn't stay for desert. The staff were defensive when we expressed our dissatisfaction instead of taking our feedback as constructive, however, they offered a really good service in general and were knowledgeable regarding the wine.
The prices were extremely expensive, especially compared with other restaurants in Seville. Not good value for money. They did the tuna off the bill after...
Read moreIt is completely hype and joke! I don't understand people give high rate. Cheap decor (paintings hang are bad) and expensive foods. At first we are greeted manageress she didn't lead us our table. She said our table reserved is back of room. So we picked one of 2 seats tables in back anyway. Then we waited wine we ordered for long time. Impatient looking manageress brought wine without wine cooler. After my husband mentioned it to me, she brought cooler. Waiter read through menu on blackboard in English. We didn't expect remember all menu with details. They should have prepared menu in English. Customers are almost tourists non Spanish. Cheese and grapes were somehow spicy. Cherviche was fiercely spicy!! They shouldn't put chilies on top. I couldn't eat further as my mouth became numb. After I complained waiter. He brought milk and just responded us chef said cheese is not spicy (it was spicy). Main we ordred black risotto with squid was bland no taste. Red rice with duck conflit, duck was over cooked and very dry. Hoisin sauce was poured on rice so sauce overpowered and ruined harmony. They charge us €3.70 for small sparkling water bottle and €3.70 for small bread. We paid about €90 for two. We should have gone to mid range Tapas restaurant which has tastier foods, better service and good price. Almost customer won't come back because we are tourist so you can rip off. There is lots of thing you...
