Sevilla, Alameda de Hércules, or simply La Alameda, is a garden square or mall in Seville. Built in: 1574, it was originally a promenaded public garden, named after the eight rows of white poplar trees that fill its central part. Four columns were placed to mark off a promenade through the trees. In the beginning it was planned to take four columns from the remains of the Roman temple, believed to be dedicated to Hercules. However, when moving the third column it fell apart, leaving the work temporarily unfinished. This area is just filled with life with food places including burgers, pizza, mexican, spanish, japanese and much more! Majority of places have good music playing, giving the atmosphere more and more of it. Some places even have live music happening.
Highly recommend going there, especially during the night as it seems nothing here sleeps...

Over time it took a turn for the worse till it was revived at the start of the 21st Century. It is unquie as large paved public space in the middle of a dense city. The square itself has different moods during the day. The best time to experience it is in the evening when children are playing football and the people are enjoying their meals and drinking in the dozens of bars and restaurants that dot it's boundary. We loved going back to it...
