After three weeks of searching for a flamenco show that didn’t feel overly touristy, we finally stumbled upon La Madriguera de Mai, and it turned out to be the perfect choice for our first experience.

From the moment we walked through the doors, the intimate setting captivated us, making us feel as though we were part of something special. The performances were absolutely stunning—each artist brought incredible energy and authenticity. The guitarist’s precision, the singer’s raw emotion, and the dancer’s passion worked together seamlessly, creating a spellbinding experience.

The food was another highlight—homemade, authentic, and delicious. The portions were just right, allowing us to savor every bite without feeling overwhelmed.

What stood out the most, however, was the warmth of the atmosphere. The entire evening felt familiar, like being with family. It wasn’t just a performance—it was an immersion into the heart of flamenco culture.

If you’re looking for a genuine flamenco experience paired with fantastic food, La Madriguera de Mai is an absolute must. We couldn’t have asked for a better...

Just incredible. TBH even if you miss La Giralda, La Macarena AND the Real Alcazar during your stay in Seville, do not miss this place.

True Sevilla of the 21st Century. This tiny bar has taken generations of passion to form and is pushing boundaries to grow. Maria (see photo) is forging forwards with a bar that can incorporate the passion and precision for which Seville is known sitting seamlessly alongside a fierce acceptance of diversity and growth.

Her prices are ridiculously low (if it’s the first time you’ve watched a gin be poured in Seville, enjoy!) so tip well. She could make a killing charging for flamenco on Friday and Saturday nights as it is always fully booked and doesn’t.

Every now and then you stumble across somewhere that you want to see truly flourish.

This is our place. This is our...

5 stars are too little for this establishment. From Maria, the host with a heart of gold, who quickly becomes everyone's friend, to her mother who makes the most amazing food (I had the cod and the chicken in blue cheese sauce and I am still dreaming of the latter), and the extremely powerful flamenco! Everything was top notch. This is not a commercial place, and is a more intimate setting which makes a huge difference. They charge €35 per person which includes the show, a drink and a choice of 2 items to eat from the menu, which is a great deal. I visited without a reservation and Maria was kind enough to accommodate my mother and me. It was our last night in Andalucia, and what a memorable night it became. Highly recommended on...

This bar/restaurant looks like any other bar in Seville from the outside, maybe that's why I didnt paid much attention to it even tough I live round the corner. A friend took me there and it was a revelation! The staff was very chamring (for real, not a trying just to please you) and effective, the local has a great size and cool decor, the price is more than fair (too cheap I would even say) and their menu have the local clasics, but also, so many veggie options. They do Flamenco shows on Friday there, is a good complement of the restaurant, but if you want to see a proper flamenco show go somewhere else (my only grip is that the show was short, but is easy to understand why since its a free show).
