*Addition to the original review based upon the comments by the restaurant:
Since you have the audacity to trivialize our critique in the original review, I’ve lowered the number of stars.
First of all, I’ve felt the need to first write the bad reviews during our week in Cala Millor, because on both occasions we felt deceived and had bad experiences. I’ve also left 2 very positive reviews for 3 occasions where we actually had great food and a positive experiences in general. Please read those, so you might learn something about what makes those experiences great.
Second of all: We ate what was edible. Also, we really dislike spilling food, especially when animals die for it. However, the plates went back with all salads in tact. We ate 2 potato wedges and left the rest. 2/3 of the pasta went back. Like I said: It was disgusting.
Third of all, I told you the food was bad when I paid for it. You tried to buy me with shots.
To imagine I gave your lousy meals to my kids… You are just crooks selling bad food.
Original review:
We went here today because of the reviews on trip advisor. In hindsight: It would’ve been better if we had taken the time. This restaurant seems to have changed owners somewhere over the last year. You can clearly see a decline in ratings over that period and the photos of the dishes also seem to change: The older ones show quality food and the newer ones show simple, less visually-interesting dishes. I suspect this restaurant is just making use of the good name and reviews it has gotten because of its previous owners. However, here’s our review:
The good: Indian waiters are kind. The location is nice, because of the shade.
The bad: We had to wait quite a while for our food to be served. The kids - at that point - were already done for a while and were getting bored.
The food seems to be mostly heated frozen food. Nothing wrong with that in general, but you just do not want to eat that if you go out to eat in a restaurant, do you? In addition, the preparation was bad as well:
The pan de ajo starter was a microwaved piece of bread cut into slices with a bit of aioli on the side. My daughter’s hamburguesa was a grilled frozen patty with a slice of cheese on it, on a prepackaged bun. Her french fries seemed to be alright. On the contrary, my wife and my potatoe wedges were fried too long (so really hard and really crunchy). Considering the taste, they were also prepackaged or just old. My wife’s pechuga the pollo was overloaded with onions, but it seemed to taste alright. On the other hand, my presas de cerdo iberico were initially served undercooked, but came back later slightly burned. Still feel them twisting in my stomach. My brother-in-law’s pulpo was grilled nicely, but his dish - just like ours - came with the a large mountain of iceberg lettuce salad with some chunks of cucumber and sliced tomato: Really bland and nobody actually took more than a bite. My sister-in-law’s spaghetti with salmon was simple, dull and very, very salty. Nothing wrong with the chicken fingers for their son, but both those fingers and the fries on the side were fried frozen food. For our son we had a spaghetti bolognese which seemed slightly burned here and there (imagine having to feed that to your child. My wife took more care than a surgeon, making sure to make sure no burnt stuff ended up on his spoon). He did not seem to like it too much, because he left most of it.
After sharing our complaints, the waiter apologized and offered us some drinks. Because it was already too late for the kids we decided to just leave.
The verdict: Don’t eat here. Especially when you think it is going to be really good based upon the ratings on both Google and Trip Advisor. The service was fine, the meal just really, really bad. I did not mind paying for the meal, but we we’re just left feeling deceived after thinking to have chosen a good place to eat with the family and eventually being served heated frozen and prepackaged stuff. There are way better restaurants in Cala Millor we could’ve chosen to eat at....
Read moreI'm being generous because at the end the waiter was kind enough to discount for my discontent with last night's meal. I went to eat early compared to standard eating time here and the one thing I wanted on the menu the Tuna Tataki wasn't available. If a menu item is the most popular then one would expect them to be a bit more prepared an hour and a half after opening the restaurant. But simply announcing that item of food is unavailable as soon as one sits would be helpful as well as I would have decided whether or not to stay. By the time I knew I had ordered my wine and had been there a bit.
My second issue is a warning on wait time for food would have been lovely. I know service lacks in this area but if I had been told my food coming out would take 45 minutes to an hour I would have also left.
The excuse is that it was very busy but to be honest, it seemed like a normal amount of people.
The 17 euro grilled tuna was underwhelming. It came with one potato that was steamed but still hard. And it came with grilled veggies which weren't mentioned when I asked (eggplants and peppers) neither of which I eat and had I know I could have asked for a simple salad substitution.
When I voiced my thoughts to the waiter he was apologetic and offered me another wine/dessert on the house but I just didn't want anything else from there. He took a few euros off my bill which is unheard of in all the years I spent living up in BCN.
I would say just keep it real with the customers when they sit. Most people value...

This is by far the best restaurant we have visited during our one week stay. We found this restaurant on Trip Advisor and decided we just had to try it. We were not disappointed...
The food is superb, I had the beef cheek and it just melted in my mouth. The nutella cheesecake is to die for.
The service is great. Both the owner and the staff are truly serviceminded. They really go the extra mile to make you feel welcome.
The prices are reasonable (same level as other restaurants in the area). In fact, with this high quality food and overall superb experience they could probably charge more and still have a restaurant full of happy customers.
The restaurant is really popular and it is well deserved. We had to make a reservation (we did it one night in advance).
Conclusion: A must visit when in Cala Millor. I know I...
