Food was good, service- impeccable!
Visited last week with my son in law and grandson. My grandson is not the most adventurous eater and is often spotted face down in a bag of Haribo , fiending off the sugar. He asked our server who I believe was called Mr Tommy if they could make something off menu, his favourite salt and chilli chips. No problem for Fufu. When they arrived my grandson devoured them at such pace that one chip became lodged in his throat. Quick as a flash Mr Tommy performed some mysterious Jedi mind trick and stared so intensely at the young gourmand that he pulled the chip and part of his soul from his body using only the power of his mind-incredible!
The exemplary customer service experience continued. When making his way to the bathroom my grandson slipped and demonstrated a one handed air flare, a move his grandpa last performed at the 1988 world breakdance championship in Rio. Legs one way hand slapping hard on the table with a loud percussive bang! A spectacular move that captivated our fellow diners. Once again Mr Tommy was on hand to pick the young scamp off the deck and usher him back into his chair. His concern was genuine and his medicinal Baileys generous.
“Thanks Grandpa, that was the best Chinese meal I’ve ever had” It was difficult to disagree with the young lad. Well done Fufu, well...
Read moreMy sister and I went to Fu Fu Chinese 🍛 in Los Pocillos/Matagorda on Sunday evening. I'd read loads of great reviews and we decided to give it a go.
We chose the special set menu for 2 people, €13.50 each. Starters were 4 huge Jumbo breaded king prawns, 2 spring rolls with chilli dipping sauce and crispy duck with pancakes.
The prawns in particular were absolutely delicious and nice little spring rolls, duck was fab. For main courses we had sizzling beef with black bean sauce and chicken curry. The beef was amazing, so tender and full of flavour. Curry was tasty too but the beef was unreal. These came with a large fried rice. We also got complimentary prawn crackers with the meal.
Then the best bit 😊, the lovely waitress asked would we like a complimentary drink and brought down a bottle of Bailey's and a bottle of Brandy to our table and left them there for ages! We ended up having 3 free drinks, we even said to her did she want to take the bottles away and she just said no it's fine and smiled.
Total bill, just over 44 euro, unreal value as we got a bottle of house wine and 2 bottles of water too. I absolutely will return here with my family when we're back in Lanzarote during the summer. Fabulous food, value and staff -what more could...
Read moreWe (Google reporter) are regularly approached with tips for new restaurants. Usually, however, these locations I visited are not worth the effort or only of a mediocre quality.
The FuFu restaurant, located on the Matagorda beach, Centro Comercial Los Picolos, is a refreshing and surprising exception to this.
This small family restaurant shows that with a relative range of dishes, friendly atmosphere and courteous staff ... it is possible to offer a unique experience to their guests. The meals I ordered can be described as flawless presentations, dishes prepared with the right amount and dosage of herbs. Unique combinations of flavors and spices, products that are prepared with craftsmanship and applied on a small scale with a very good price / quality ratio.
This restaurant can also be named a diamond in the rough with honorable mention, an unexpected psychedelic trip on the edge of Pocillos beach. An absolute must and asset to Puerto del Carmen and ..., an experience that you do not want to miss during your visit to Lanzarote.
Tip .: a unique taste experience, highly recommended and visit worthy ... new update 2024
