Marcos Bar — Restaurant in Tías

Went in for a few drinks with my family, we were on our 3rd round and my wife got a bad red wine (first two were lovely). Went to the bar and asked for it to be changed, the owner of the bar I believe her name was Aless started shouting at my wife saying it was the same bottle. Shouting saying there could not be anything wrong with it, she did not smell it or taste but instead decided to put ice into the wine (not sure what her thinking was here) she just got defective straight away and continued to shout and point at the wine, at this stage my wife walked away. I talked to a manager Marcos who said he would go get a new bottle and open it infront of us, never happened, when we looked at the bar and the two of them were arguing, clearly she would not allow him to change my wifes drink. Then Aless came over to the table confronted my wife arguing again. Aless was saying that we would still be charged for the drink even though it was corked and my wife had left it at the bar when being verbal attacked by this woman. My wife actually started crying and as we were waiting for the drink to be change we were instead presented with the bill.

Never have I ever come across a more rude, arrogant host in all my time travelling and to top it off she still charged us for the corked glass of wine. when we left her husband and another waitress apolgised for her behavior and put it down to been busy, (it was not busy) it was a terrible end to an amazing holiday.

My husband and I stumbled across this bar one evening when looking for somewhere to have a few drinks and chill and couldn't have been happier. We were drawn in by the live music, there's some really great artists who play here - we particularly enjoyed the River Band on Wednesdays with classic rock tunes. Marcos the owner is incredibly friendly, recognises you and always stops to say hello and have a chat, every time we visited he did this which really added to the experience, bar staff also really friendly and smiley. Huge selection of drinks at amazing prices, most of which were delicious though did find the quality slipped a smidge when it got really busy. Also offers food which is okay but our main reason for returning was the happy ambience and chilled out vibes, football on the telly for sports fans and live music with light up candles really makes the place feel cosy. A excellent bar, me and my girlfriend came here every single night of our holiday. Located right across the road from our hotel it provides fantastic food and drinks at a very reasonable cost and the staff are some of the best I have ever came across. A special mention to Ahmed who worked so hard and was smiling and talking with all the customers all night. He really knows how to look after customers and was always smiling and full of banter. Service like that is something that is very rare these days. If you are in Puerto Del Carmen this is a bar that you should definitely put on your list. It has plenty of big TV’s showing all the sports during the day and then from 9pm they have a live singer and they were also excellent and put on a very entertaining night.
