Pickle tray: runny mango chutney and a lurid green soupy mixture (Hello food colouring?!) ruin what could have been excellent if the chili pickle had set the standard.
Vegetable biryani: excellent whole spices used so it was a flavoursome dish. But it was somewhat let down by the vegetables being from a frozen selection bag and a dull mix of mainly carrot and peas. No cauliflower, chunks of onion or tomato etc.
Chana Masala: gorgeous oniony and buttery flavour. Best of the night. But very small portion and not value for money at all.
Paneer Makhani: weak flavours, overly rich and a somewhat lumpy texture. Disappointing as Paneer is normally my all time favourite.
As a Bradford girl I'm a tough cookie when it comes to Indian food. I expect fresh ingredients, proper spices and not an overuse of ghee or oil. Unfortunately, tonight Indian Aroma did not deliver.
In addition, the service was poor, particularly when we had completed our main course. We weren't offered extra drinks (we only had one each because we couldn't order more due to no staff - they were all behind the bar talking!), coffee or dessert. And we had to go in to ask for the bill as there was no sign of any staff coming out.
I wouldn't recommend this restaurant and I...
Read moreWe visited India Aroma yesterday and thoroughly enjoyed every moment of it! We were welcomed in by friendly staff and given a 10% discount card to use on our visit.
We were given the choice to sit where we liked and we chose outside next to one of three outside fire heaters. Drinks came very shortly after, followed by free poppadoms and pickle tray! Just as we finished them, along came our starters which were simply amazing. There was a short wait between the starter and main which was nice just so you didn't feel rushed.
The main course came along with all the sides and I really would struggle if someone asked me to come up with something they should improve. Again simply amazing. The price was fair and we will be visiting again!

Read moreThis is a great place to visit for anyone looking for an authentic Indian cuisine. The atmosphere is amazing, the food was delicious and the staff members worked hard to ensure the best experience for the visitors. The menu is fairly broad so it was easy to pick exactly what we wanted. The dishes were presented in a beautiful manner, some dishes had a small candle under them to keep them warm, which adds a nice effect to the meal and guarantees the best taste. If you're a fan of spicy food like me, I'd recommend to try a Vindaloo dish with a Phal level of spice. This is easily the hottest dish I ever tried at a restaurant, and easily satisfied my hot and spicy craving. Shout-out to the guys AJ and Imran who looked us the whole night. Will definitely...
