Upon arrival, we were greeted by friendly and attentive staff, setting the tone for what we hoped would be an enjoyable dining experience. However, as the dishes arrived, our expectations began to dwindle.
I decided to try the Garlic Mushrooms, which at a price of €10, left me underwhelmed. It was disappointing that bread was not included, and if requested, an additional cost was required. The Minestrone soup ordered by my friend was simply "ok," not bad enough to send back, but not good enough to return for either. Another companion opted for Garlic Bread, which unfortunately, did not meet their expectations for the price.
As we progressed onto the main dishes, my Four Cheese Pizza failed to impress, as it lacked a sufficient tomato base, rendering it more like a cheesy toast. Moreover, the base was too hard for my taste. To make matters worse, for the price we paid, we have had much better pizza at other establishments. My friend ordered Risotto, which unfortunately had a severe issue of saltiness, despite the fact that she usually prefers her food salty. Even I, who regularly puts salt on everything, found it too much. Lastly, my other friend tried the pasta, which tasted decent, but it seemed inadequate for the cost of the dish.
To conclude the evening, a cockroach suddenly scurried over my arm as I was resting it on the table, which instantly left me disconcerted. Unfortunately, after researching more about the restaurant online, we realized that cockroach sightings have been an issue. As such, our expectations were far from met, and although the overall experience was passable, it is doubtful we will ever return to...
Read moreReally enjoyed our food here.
All of the waiters we interacted with were very friendly and customer focused with the exception of one older gentleman (Older in comparison to the rest of the waiters) who should never be put in front of a customer. We told him how wonderful the food was when clearing our plates and he didn't react. I saw another customer return a steak as it was not cooked enough and he took the plate without speaking or reacting. Bad manners.
Food wise - I had the garlic prawns for a starter and I was a little disappointed as the prawns had not been de-veined. They're small prawns so some might not consider it necessary, but regardless it's not appetising to be eating. Especially one you learn that the blue 'vein' isn't actually a vein at all!
My girlfriend had the fried goats cheese which was really good. Three or four triangles of goats cheese deep fried with a raspberry sauce. Wonderful starter that I definitely recommend.
Main course I had the pasta with mushrooms and steak tossed in a cream sauce. It was absolutely fantastic and I devoured the entire plate! I'd almost go as far as saying it was the best pasta I've had in...
Read moreDo not be fooled by this busy restaurant. We came here as it looked very busy over our time here and fancied a decent Italian meal .
Number one mistake was thinking it would be good Italian food .
We ordered salmon and prawn fusilli due to the waiter stating that the carbonara is made Spanish style with only cream ( no egg, therefore not a carbonara)
Next dish was cod and prawn risotto.
So, both dishes were dry, tasteless and lacking in any sort of colour. It was pretty much what you’d expect a school meal to be . Nothing seasoned, maybe 6 flakes of salmon and a few prawns in the pasta .
The risotto had no depth of flavour but would have been good to paste wallpaper with . I don’t actually think it was risotto rice . It had a few flakes of cod and seven prawns( Tiny ones !) The garlic bread was a slice of white bloomer with a blob of garlic flavoured butter .
By far the worst place we’ve ate . Poor school food, no atmosphere, quick flip tables like a canteen . Don’t bother …. Walk 5 minutes to Lani’s and have an...
