We've just returned after an 11 night stay in rooms 178, 180 & 198. Others have reported problems getting sun loungers but there were plenty available the last two weeks of August during our stay. The one's around the pool area were being taken at around 8am the first week by some of our UK residents but for the remainder of our stay there were still loungers spare at 11am. There's always the families who bagged loungers at 1st light but never even used them on some day's but you get that on most holidays. There is also an open area to the side of the pool with around 40 loungers where we never had a problem finding 5 together to use. My only criticism is the number of parasols available as they all seem to have been moved to the pool area. Again, they can be moved elsewhere & if you ask the pool staff they're happy to move one for you. The hotel location was perfect for our family with our rooms on the 1st floor which was 5 steps up to the pool level on our side. Steps down to the ground floor which led out onto the sea front was lika a typical staircase at home on our side of the complex, but there are several exits around the gated complex which lead to different street levels. Some rooms opposite had ground floor apartments that looked onto the pool. No air con but the bedroom had a quiet ceiling fan that we left on during the night & a fan on a stand in the lounge area. The 3 rooms were fine for us temperature wise & we experienced between 36 & 40° during our August stay. We had a problem with the shower in one room & maintenance were there within 5 minutes of reporting it to reception. They replaced the shower unit with a brand new one straight away. Tv's in the room have uk channels 1-5 along with children's channels & Disney channel all in English which was great for the kids in their room & the mother in law in hers. We had an enjoyable stay & would definitely stay here again. Friendly staff in the...
Read moreWe have just left La Penita Room 131 after a fabulous 2 week stay. Before we even arrived Daniel on Reception was brilliant and emailed to say we could stay in the same room for the whole 14 nights....our flights had changed and we needed to change the apartment dates. Nothing seemed too much trouble for him. The room was amazing. Immaculate with self catering facilities and towels and bedding changed every 2 days. It really was spotless. This extended to the whole of the complex. The whole place was immaculate. The staff were polite and friendly. The lifeguard was on duty from 10am until about 6pm every day and they have a rule in place whereby if people try and reserve sunbeds then don't use them for an hour the lifeguard will remove them and take them all bagged up to Reception. There is a book swap in Reception and also in the adjoining pool bar. The pool bar was brilliant and again the staff so friendly and helpful. It was so reasonably priced with a toastie and a bit of salad being 3.75euro. There are two Happy Hours during the day where the local beer is 1.5euro a pint. The bar sells hot and cold drinks including cocktails, icecreams and a wide selection of snacks which you can eat in or take away. Also they sell my favourite leche y leche! The parrots and doves came to our balcony every evening and we did give them some nuts which they seemed to enjoy. They were so lovely and ate out of our hands. La Penita is literally a few minutes walk from the row of shops, bars and cafes and is a gated area, so you need a key to enter. It feels very safe. It is also very quiet and we were not disturbed by anything during our stay. It is also set up for disabled wheelchair and buggy access as there are ground floor rooms and ramps to Reception and the Pool Bar. I would wholly recommend this lovely place and want to thank everyone at La Penita for our...
Read moreMyself & my girlfriend are just back from a stay at La Penita Apartments & we have had a few problems, that i feel are necessary to express.
We checked in for 9 nights and we were instantly hit with a bad first impression once we saw that the reception was in, what seemed to be an old apartment room..
1.) Our room was not cleaned ONCE in 9 nights.. your cleaner had asked us on day 2 if we wanted cleaning, to which we replied saying no it’s clean at the moment. Did that cause her to think we meant no for the entire stay? I’m not sure. 2.) We left rubbish bags outside our apartment for a cleaner to take, yet the bags remained there for 3 days. 3.) Bins weren’t changed AT ALL. This is ridiculous considering the apartments are equipped with a kitchenette. 4.) Not once was our bed linen changed. We checked previous reviews and you state that they are changed every 2 days – which i consider laughable, as we were stuck in the same sheets for 9 nights 5.) The water ran out 4 times for long periods of time meaning we could not shower or brush our teeth. 6.) The fan was completely wobbly and uneven, and the case fell off the fan every single night creating a loud noise! 7.) The reception lady was incredibly rude and unhelpful especially when we were leaving. She couldn’t even say ‘goodbye’ ‘safe flight’ I’ve stayed in 2* hostel’s and was treated better than this. 8.) The gate infront of our apartment broke. 9.) Serious adjustments must be made to the shower, no matter how the curtain is placed, water WILL leak onto the floor
I am a travel agent and I am genuinely confused how you guys have received 5-star reviews. The only good thing about this place was the 2 ladies working at the pool bar &...
