Not the best Indian on the island if I’m going to be honest and in my opinion I don’t think it’s worthy of such a high rating. Don’t get me wrong the restaurant is clean, staff are lovely and friendly, they do a 4 course deal for about 17 euros I believe, which is great price wise but the food lets it down. Been here twice, first time I was quite drunk when I dined here last year but I recall that I didn’t think it was anything special, we decided to try it for a second time this March (completely sober) poppadoms and pickle tray is fine, chose a starter of chicken tikka, nice also, maybe could do with a little bit more chicken, partner had chicken pakora, this didn’t look or taste great to be honest. For main we both had chicken madras, this was quite a let down to be honest, it tastes like it is batch cooked, which it probably is due to so many ordering it on the 4 course deal, it lacked flavour and spices of a typical Indian curry and the chicken used looked cheap, there’s lots of pieces but they are small pieces. Reminded me of a good supermarket bought ready meal curry. Wouldn’t come here again, if you want a cheap deal this place is good but I would rather pay more for a better...
Read moreHad a fixed price menu meal deal of €16.99. Dined alone and it was very busy at 8pm so had to wait a few minutes to be seated. Staff very friendly. The table next to me were still on their poppadoms when I ordered and because I asked for the starter to be brought with the main meal I was served before they even had their starter. That would be a tip for anyone not wanting to wait so long when it's a busy evening! The other table next to me were delivered a few wrong dishes but their situation was resolved with apologies, but then when it came to them paying they were still being charged for the wrong dishes, again resolved with apologies. In the end everyone was pleased but it seems to show the staff can be a little overworked and confused when it's a busy time. I had a Korma as part of my meal, which was very nice but not the best I have tasted locally. Other than being ignored 3 times when waiters walked by I would have rated higher, but everything was okay and I was in and out...
Read moreWe visited based on our electricians recommendation and the high review score. Staff were friendly and efficient. However, the food was disappointing. Poppadoms were large, thick, and crispy, but the chutney tray let them down. Chopped red pepper, chopped onion, watery mango chutney, and a yoghurt mint sauce, not a bit of anything spicy insight. The chicken in a dhansak was dry, and it was described as uninteresting. The Jalfrezzi lacked flavour and spice, and it came topped with cucumber rather than green chillis, and I've had spicier stews. The only thing about the special fried rice was the price 3 euro more than pilau but looked and tasted the same. The absolute star of the show was the butter naan best on the island, and we've had few. So would I come back -No There are far, tastier, spicier and more delicious...
