(April 2025) Entered the restaurant during a dinner service to try and reserve a table for a couple of days time. Was advised they don’t take bookings In person and I would have to use a QR code (despite having booked in person several times before). I then enquired on Facebook about a booking for the 8 of us, was advised I would need to pay a 10 euro deposit either by cash or PayPal. Unfortunately I didn’t receive a response until I was back in Tias the following day and explained I don’t have PayPal. It was quite a curt response about how they don’t take bookings during dinner service (despite there being less than 10 diners in the restaurant at the point of my request). It actually took them more time to explain about the QR code than what it would have been to take the booking and ask for the 80 euro deposit in cash or card there and then which I’d have been happy to do. Ultimately we opted to chance it on the night and actually stumbled across another restaurant which we enjoyed. Seems a little odd to turn away bookings in person and the opportunity to cater for 8 people likely to spend upwards of €350 as a total because of a strange and out of the ordinary (compared to neighbouring restaurants) booking policy. With so much competition nearby it seems an odd decision to make which has unfortunately put us off returning.
Post response review…
I’m sure the owner says on other reviews that all constructive feedback will be listened to. Highlighting a clearly flawed booking system is surely offering feedback. It’s ironic that the owner is also quick to retaliate to unprofessional reviews but is very quick to become rude, hostile and unprofessional when offered feedback. I would have chosen to leave a tripadvisor review like I have at over 140 other places but I wasn’t able to find the restaurant in the top 40 so...
Read moreBeen a few times since opening recently and feel the need to give my review of this fantastic Restaurant. Last night, went with hubby on our usual Friday 'date night'. The dining area is beautifully decorated, and the views over the Atlantic are sublime. With a warm and friendly welcome we were shown to our table by the window. I ordered my usual - 8oz Fillet steak with peppercorn sauce as an extra, hubby ordered off the 'Specials List' of Surf and Turf with onion rings as an extra. We both ordered medium, and they were cooked to perfection... Nice, smokey crisp on the outside and just blushing pink in the middle, with no 'seepage' The taste - OMG, Wayne - you are a genius as the flavour is totally amazing. The steaks were served with our choice of cheesy, gratinated sliced potatoes, grilled tomato, and Padron peppers. The sauce and onion rings are 'to die for'. I must mention the wine - a great selection and unusually to find on the island. we selected the Chilean Merlot, which complemented the meal perfectly. As residents, we have sampled most of the so-called Steakhouse and good class restaurants in Puerto Del Carmen, and we both agree that Wayne's Steakhouse is head and shoulders above the rest. As a testimony, we usually do Lani's for a celebratory meal. This year, we have already reserved our anniversary meal at Wayne's in August... Highly recommended to both tourists and residents alike... Thanks, Wayne and the team, for bringing top-class service, food, value, and surroundings...
Read moreVery poor service experience, great food. We were a table of 2 at around 7.45 on a Thursday.
Was seated by a friendly guy (potentially the owner). Then after 20 minutes we asked a older female waitress if we could order, she said 'you will be served when you are served' which I was surprised at the rudeness. About 5 minutes later a bald male waiter came over to take our drinks order and when I said could we order our mains he essentially rolled his eyes ans said no and that we have to wait as there is a order (bare in mind, people that had been seated prior to us at a more central table had already ordered and recieved drinks). Waited another 10 mins and lady came and took our order.
The poor service from 2 seperate staff is shocking especially as when seated we wernt aware it would take over 35 minutes until we were allowed to order our food. The restaurant was busy but there was no need for the attitude.
The food was fantastic (steak with peppercorn sauce and the Waynes burger). Perhaps if we had got takeaway this rating would have been 5*s as we wouldn't have had to deal with...
