El rincón simple gastro bar — Restaurant in Teguise

It's very rare that I bother to leave a review of a restaurant, but for El Rincon, I will most certainly make an exception! I literally can't say enough good things about this place. I pretty much talked my wife into returning to Costa Teguise because of the food here. We ate here 3 times in one week, even though there are so many great places close by. It's the most unassuming place and you're basically in an alleyway, but the food is some of the best I've ever had. The Ceviche is beautiful, the garlic prawns are sublime, the beef Tagliata is unreal, and the Prawn Tacos nearly brought me to tears. It's the attention to detail that just blows you away. The prawns are in the crispiest , lightest filo pastry, with a lightly pickled red onion, on a bed of lettuce with guacamole, a spiced mayo, salted Pimento padron, sprinkled with chia seed and soft shell tortillas. Jesus, my mouth is watering just remembering them! And all from a kitchen that's about 15 sq foot! Great service and just really nice people. If you're on the island of Lanzarote, make sure you eat here. Get a taxi, boat, whatever....

This is definitely one of the best restaurants in Lanzarote. We tried many, but we still had to come here again and again. Food was amazing, they had the best salad ever (with prawns, mango and avocado), also fried squid with small potatoes was delicious🫠We ate this combo 5 times during 8 days in Lanzarote, we could not help it. We drove there around a hour each day, but it was definitely worth it. During last two visits, we wanted to try something new as an addition, so we chose pulled pork tacos, and no surprise it was totaly mindblowing. So we had to come and eat it again :D Chef is very very talented. We never left anything on our plates. Staff was also very nice and friendly. As the last I have to mention, that we tried many restaurants in Fuerteventura too, but it was nothing comparing to El rincón and we were really looking forward to get back to Lanzarote just because of their awesome food. I attended this restaurant at 2:30 pm on 2nd January with five other people. Myself and my daughter ordered the Rincon Chicken burger and the other four people ordered other dishes. At 7 pm, I started to feel unwell, so I returned to my hotel room. At 9:30 pm, I suffered from diarrhoea, violent vomiting and fever, which continued through the night. I recovered within 24 hours. My daughter was not as lucky. She started to feel unwell at 10 pm, and after experiencing the same symptoms for nearly 24 hours, we decided to call a doctor who diagnosed gastroenteritis caused by food poisoning. We missed our flight and had to extend our stay for an extra two days as my daughter had to receive a series of four injections. I strongly suggest avoiding this restaurant at all...
