Terrible. Cannot cater for dietary requirements and are very rude. We ate here last summer and the experience still leaves a bad taste in one's mouth. We visited the day before the day we wanted to book for to make sure they could provide food that was suitable (cannot have any type of pepper - black pepper, white pepper, chilli pepper, sweet peppers etc or tomato and we provided them with a list). They said they could provide plain chicken with mushroom sauce and vegetables. When we arrived for our meal we looked at the menu and asked if they could provide the food we had discussed the day before and they said no I could only have food specifically from the menu. We asked about the sauces on the menu and they said everything was pre prepared (and with some they had to look at packet ingredients) and then we were told it was very difficult to provide any thing for me and they made us feel like we were being difficult for the sake of it and the owner kept suggesting I could at least try and have some of one of the sauces with pepper in when we had tried to make sure the day before that they could provide some food. There wasn't much without peppers. They said they would do me chicken with vegetables. When they brought the meal the vegetables were mixed mild chilli peppers and a solitary small piece of chicken. I said I could not eat it and they said I was being very difficult. They took it back and replaced the peppers with tomatoes. Once again I said I could not have the tomatoes so they took it back again and returned the plate with one grilled mushroom in addition to the chicken. Unfortunately the chilli pepper juice had gone on the chicken (they had just moved the chicken onto a new plate each time) and so I could not eat most of it without potentially having a reaction. The chicken itself was very dry. None of the other people on the table of 6 enjoyed their meals and all felt very uncomfortable. When we said something about it, the owner just turned around and said it was a difficult order despite 5 of the 6 meals being straight off their specials board which they recommended. Considering the size of my meal was less than a third of a plate of food that was mostly inedible anyway, they wouldn't consider not charging us a full main price for that meal and they just said "you were difficult" whilst handing back the change (we asked if they could charge a starter price as the starters were bigger than my meal). We would rather a restaurant say they cannot provide suitable food so we do not waste money and what could have been a nice evening somewhere else. We visit this area a couple of times a year and all the other restaurants have never had a problem with providing delicious food as well as being polite and at least trying to help. We are on first name basis with some other restaurants and we feel very welcomed and are provided with a choice of meal easily and they are all gorgeous meals. Try other restaurants in this area such as No10 (10/10), Restaurante El Navarro (9/10), Montmartre Bistro (8/10), Restaurante Sausalito (8/10), Restaurante Villa Toledo (10/10 - been coming here for 12 years, it feels like a home from home, great for a beautiful meal overlooking the ocean and sunset). The whole experience at La Gaviota was dreadful. Would not recommend and we certainly will not be returning. We informed the reception where we stay and they said our experience wasn't an...

This is a hidden gem. Sheltered from the wind this restaurant has a beautiful indoor outdoor aesthetic. The staff were friendly, informative and efficient. We kicked off the meal sharing some starters - burrata salad, grilled squid and smoked fish, all of them delivered. Good portion size, fresh and delicious. Simple food done well. The main event, I had preordered the the suckling pig which is best to do so as they only have a limited number of portions per day, and it sells out fast. It did not disappoint, served with a few potatoes, an apple sauce and a gravy. Chefs kiss. This was all washed down with a big ballsy red wine, I know, you’d probably choose white but a 15% red was too good to resist. The meal ended with a complimentary brandy to send us on our way. Thank you for having us La Gaviota a brilliant start to the...

Outstanding meal with my husband tonight. We found a number of local places full, so tried here off the back of a post on Facebook. Oh my word. Saving the best to last! It's obvious that the owners care about the food, quality and customer service. We had three courses plus drinks and it was a very reasonable 80E (I was drinking mini bottles of their excellent cava that don't come cheap!) I ordered the octopus carpaccio, fresh grilled prawns and the coconut rice pudding, and my husband ordered the black pudding, poussin and chocolate mousse. These were all off their daily specials menu. I can safely say every prawn I've ever eaten prior to the list evening was overcooked. These just melted in my mouth..so...

We choose this restaurant on the first night when we arrived. I’m giving 3* only because of lovely staff , as they were very nice and friendly. I’ve been looking for to have proper Paella, but In here was a bit disappointment. It was over salted and lots of liquid. Complete disappointment was Secreto Ibérico , it was chewy and we have to return it. They said they have few days problems with this meet?? Why would they serve it if they know is not good???

Stumbled across this restaurant in Costa Teguise. It’s set back from the street a bit, so glad we investigated. Absolutely wonderful meal staff and atmosphere. They really know what they are doing with their ingredients. Some very interesting/different options on the menu. Worlds apart from the majority of restaurants in Costa Teguise. It’s a shame it’s not on trip advisor or Instagram. So lucky we found it. It’s opposite El Navarro restaurant.
