Your older Scottish waitress has an appalling attitude and has no customer service skills. She made a massive scene infront of my husband and other people drinking in the bar because I had a hair clip attached to my end of the table for 5 seconds while I was tying my hair up (it was 31 degrees that day) we let it go and I apologised and she proceeded to tell me to go do my hair in the toilet! So this is now twice she’s told me off infront of other couples and families who are feeling as awkward as we are. Explaining how many germs are in my hair? Anyway My husband then asked for a drinks menu because it was soo hot and she refused to give us one and demanded we ordered with no menu?! Because we are polite people we ordered a drink and drank it as fast as possible to get out of there. She then came upto us with a food menu and we said we just wanted the bill. She then brought up the clip scenario and tried to justify her impoliteness again explaining that I have many germs in my hair.. Never once apologised for her rude approach and how she made me feel uncomfortable. I’ve worked in customer service for over 15 years and I have never told a customer of for anything. Especially the same thing three times. Simply pathetic. Would...
Read moreCan't rate it I'm afraid. 1st time we called was just before 9pm and they said they were taking any more orders, we went out of our way to go around to it. Anyway ended up in the lighthouse and had a fantastic meal and brilliant service and entertainment. 2nd visit. We said we would get there in plenty of time, looking to support irish business like you do. The evening menu didn't suit any of the teens and they wouldn't accommodate but doing goujons. When we asked about the kids menu we were more or less told not to bother as the portions are tiny. Instead of offering an adults portion maybe? It was as if they didn't want to bother. Oh and on both occasions the guy recommended we try other places, like he was keen to get rid. Both visits were for 6 people, clearly don't need the business. Plus the place was empty. I've worked in the hospitality industry myself and always went out of my way to accommodate customers and make them feel welcome. We visit costa teguise regularly, I certainly won't be trying the Irish...
Read moreWent here with the family while on holiday. One staff member was incredibly rude.. not all staff just one in particular. Made to feel unwelcome, refused to make basic adaptions such as no tomato in salad. I'm a chef of 20 years and found this beyond laughable at best.
We ordered drinks and dessert near the end of our visit here. We forgot one drink from the order and asked the waitress to add a rum and coke. Very basic request but the waitress was visibly upset with having to add a drink into her note book after writing down the dessert.. quite odd really.. Very rude, tutting and rolling eyes. It's quite shocking to me that this level of incompetence can be displayed by FOH.
It was not busy at the time either, iv worked some busy shifts myself and we are all human. But this was not the case here, just rude.
Again I emphasize this was just one staff member, others were very polite and accommodating! The food was a good standard and quick to come out. Thanks to the chef!
Experience ruined by the one very...
