By far the most unpleasant dining experience of my life. The calamari was not made from squid. Rather, it was some type of processed fish pressed in the shape of squid rings - absolutely disgusting! The sausage appetizer was awful - cold fatty sausage with raw onions. The flan was by far the worst I have ever had - a distinct taste of burnt ash. The service was rude. In 40 years of business and vacation travel this was the worst restaurant experience I have had. Seriously, it was worse then any cafateria meal. All this cost 70 Euros for a family of four for lunch. A reprehensiblly dishonest tourist trap. Don't be fooled by the nice atmosphere. Don't ruin your trip to Toledo
To the owner: I suggest you take a look at your reviews before passing judgement. A full 25% of your reviews are 1 or 2 stars. That's bad. Very bad! And approximately 20% or 1 out of 5 customers gave your restaurant one star. That's also very bad. You might want to partake in some honest reflection based on those reviews rather then devoting so much of your time responding defensively to my review. Might I also suggest you look at my other reviews - My family and I spent 16 days on vacation in Spain. During our stay in Spain we dined at more than 3 dozen restaurants. The only restaurant that I felt compelled to review was...
Read moreSuch a pity. Wonderful garden, place, patio. The menu looks original, local, very engaging and it seems like you just cannot have a bad experience….
… sadly … that’s not true
The staff seems disorganised. During our stay there was a massive screaming fight in the kitchen (no volume limit so the sound of it carried across the whole hall). Organisation reflects on a very very poor food and service experience.
I’ve ordered a venison stew and it was the worst meal that I’ve had in the last 3 months and one of the worst dining experience of my life. The food arrived really fast so it’s not made fresh. Horrible cut of chewy meat served in watery, acidic sauce. I never knew you can waste venison in such way. I’m not a vegetarian but, it was seriously a pointless death to a deer. I couldn’t finish this meal.
Bonus note: I’ve asked for a spoon to eat the watery sauce with and I’ve received it dirty.
I’m reading some other negative comments and I don’t see much care or consistency in the responses neither a promise of getting things better. As some other reviewers… I’m surprised the restaurant is not out of business yet. It...
We had lunch here the day before yesterday. We asked the waitress for the bill, and I then saw her conversing with another waiter at the cash register. The bill arrived: it was €68.10, so I gave the waitress €70.10 to get €2.00 in change. Several minutes passed, but the waitress wandered around the room, ignoring us; she seemed to have no intention of bringing us change.
At a certain point, the waiter she had been conversing with asked us if we needed anything else. I told him we were waiting for change. After a while, the waiter brought us the change: it was a lot of coins. I counted and realized I was missing €0.10. I explained this to the waiter, who took the change away. He returned several minutes later, but there was still €0.10 missing. This time, he also tried to convince us that the change was correct. I insisted. The waiter left without saying anything. He returns after several minutes with a €0.20 coin and asks me for a €0.10 coin back: finally, the change was correct.
They probably tried it because we were two...
