To start we had our booking confirmed then deleted then a booking confirmed for someone else then deleted then another booked in our name. Not providing us with much confidence that our booking was going to be correct when we got there. Using the chat system on the app we managed to get things confirmed. Ariving at the hotel we found that this was a great location and our room was ok. The door to the bathroom squeaked and there is only a shower in the bath. The mini bar was really mini and included a couple of soft drinks only. There's no turn down or any 5* treatment that we have had from other high class hotels in Spain so I would be more inclined to rate this as a 3* not 5 Don't expect any of the little extras in your room as there aren't any! It's a basic room which you would get in any nice 3* There's no kettle and we like to have a tea so we normally bring our own mugs and kettle. Arriving back from our day out we noticed our nice China mugs had been taken. Reception soon rectified this but its a bit much the cleaner took our China mugs and left their dirty glasses still dirty where we had left them. We waited at the bar for 5 minutes with nobody in the bar or anywhere to be seen so I asked at reception for someone to serve us (Friday night) a further 10inutes and we were served but when we paid the bill for our 2 drinks the bill was wrong. At 11pm coming back from a meal out as the restaurant in the hotel was only open for 1 of our nights we wanted a nightcap. The bar closed at 11pm. Bearing in mind most Spainish eat at 10pm this is unacceptable for a 5* hotel. Breakfast is only OK. You are not offered the choice of eggs or other items on the "menu" as this was never given or displayed. We saw this were the waiter takes your room number and we asked but it should be offered from the start; its almost likethey dont really want you to have it to save money or effort. My fried eggs were cold and mostly raw! Overall I would say they are trying to run a 5* hotel with about 4 staff and a cleaner. Offering an adequate room for 3* but not 5. Location is great but this really is lacking the extra treatment you might be expecting. This is our 1st experience of a Marriot hotel and we are not impressed. We have stayed in many other hotels throughout Spain so this comes with some experience of what to expect.

Mixed feelings about this hotel. It is not a true 5 star in my opinion, especially compared to other hotels. Location 5/5: Very central to everything in Toledo. The location cannot be beat! Hotel 3/5: This is a palace but in name only. The building is nondescript and the only area of note was the lobby; however, we did not try the lobby bar, primarily because the ventilation inside the hotel was terrible. No air flow, despite it being warm outside. The bar looked cool, but I didn’t want to sit, drink, and continually sweat after sweating outside. The air in common areas felt stale and had a faint smell. Room 3/5: Room (210) had a smell of sewage, as noted in another review. This was mostly alleviated by turning on the air conditioner and blasting the fan. We kept a hotel key in the slot to keep the air conditioner running while we were out; however, the cleaning service removed the key during cleaning (and completely took the key) and after returning from a day out, the air was stale and the smell had retuned. I understand the environmental angle, but at least leave us the key! We only had two and one was just completely taken from us. Especially when the room smells. Other than the smell, the bed was comfortable and room was large. Overall, minus the smell, the hotel is fine. It does not compare to other five stars and even four stars that we have stayed in, so a bit of a disappointment but overall fine for a short stay.

The hotel overall has many qualities worthy of its 5-star rating - attentive staff (apart from one less pleasant encounter at reception), delicious cocktails, and a super fresh breakfast with wonderful homemade jam. However, a couple of things kept our experience from being truly five stars. When we arrived, we noticed several spider webs in the room. One might be understandable, but finding multiple gave the impression that cleaning wasn't quite up to 5-star standards. In addition, when I asked about parking, the receptionist first told me there was none available at all. Only when I pointed out that 5-star hotels generally have parking did she change her story, saying there were limited spaces that must be booked in advance. The interaction felt dismissive, as if she just wanted to move us along, which was disappointing compared to the warmth of the rest of the staff That being said, the positives are undeniable - the atmosphere, the quality of the food and drinks, and the professionalism of most of the team made our stay enjoyable. With just a bit more attention to consistency in service and room upkeep, this hotel would easily deserve the full five stars.

Beautiful hotel absolutely terrible terrible service,

Last night we decided to eat at the hotel as we had our 16 month old daughter with us and thought it would be better to eat in

We sat and ordered our food and for our daughter we asked for just paste with a tomato sauce. Keep in mind this is a 5 star Hotel.

The Waiter came back to us to basically to tell us what we ordered wasn’t no longer on the menu has it had run out. When then ordered something else, 5 mins passed he comes back to tell us there is no tomato sauce to mix with pasta hahaha. Wow. Ok this is a 5 star hotel right. Are you telling me there is no tomatoes that can be blended and simply mixed with pasta ? At a 5 star hotel !? So we had to order something different for our daughter. When the food did come it was quite nice but you would expect far more from a hotel that has a five star rating.

Here is when it gets even better. “Sarcastically”

Breakfast. We’re seated at a table with no glasses or butter. Basically somebody had left and they hadn’t re sat the table. Then i go to get a coffee and there is no water in the machine 😂😂. “Ok I’ll wait”. I walk over to grab the last two Croissants and have to ask for butter as we had nothing on our table. Keep in mind the two guys working are wearing jeans and blue shirts. No name tags nothing. I recognised one guy because I saw him last night but other guy I just thought he was a member of the public, it was only when I saw him cleaning a table I New he worked for the hotel. I went to ask him for butter and napkins as we had nothing on our table. My wife decided she now wanted a Croissant but they had now run out. 🙄 ok she said they will bring some out shortly. Nope. Nothing. We then decided to eat something off of the menu, both ordered pancakes with chocolate and cream. 10 minutes pass and the waiter from last night again walks over to our table to tell us something is wrong with the gas and the need to repair it, it will take longer he says 😂😂😂😂 This is turning into a joke now. So 40 minutes pass still nothing my partner by now has a left because we have a baby with us. The guy after 45 mins finally walks over to our table drops the plate on my table yes just one plate, nothing for my wife, says absolutely nothing walks off and pulls the curtains 😂 that’s it breakfast over. What a absolute disgraceful display of how to run a five star hotel. The staff cannot be trained in anyway. Will I come back ? Hell no. Would I recommend it ? definitely not. save your money go somewhere else, this hotel does not deserve your money with service like we received. On leaving to go back to my room I thought I would have a coffee. Again coffee machine has no water....

I do not recommend this hotel for anyone of elite status. I am a Bonvoy Platinum member and out of the 4 hotels we’ve stayed at so far in Spain, this was the most expensive and also the worst service. During breakfast, we were not offered any of the main dishes(such as the eggs or pancakes) neither were we given a menu. We were only given the charcuterie board consists of apertivos. After 40 mins, when we were leaving, we saw the menu that was on another table and saw the other included items which we were then offered to take back to the room, after 40mins being seated? Ridiculous, I would have rather taken my points and eaten locally instead of wasting our time, since they wanted us out at 2pm anyway. In addition, we got to the hotel at 1am after driving up from Cordoba, and were told we need to be out of the room by 2pm(every other hotel in Granada, Sevilla, and Cordoba allowed me to check out at 4pm or later). Don’t let them tell you it was due to lack of availability the next day, because when we checked in the gentleman at the front desk said he know elite usually has 4pm late checkout but would like us checked out by 2pm, so cleaning services can be done by 3, insinuating this was the latest they allowed. I used a suite night awards upgrade and it was clearly a waste. If I knew about the type of service here I would have opted to stay at the lower category AC hotel across town, rather than a lower class of service Autograph collection. Lastly, for the size of the room(Junior suite room 104) the TV was the smallest I’ve seen in a hotel, and it was located over 10ft from the front of the bed. The shower...
