We stayed five nights at the hotel, (with 4 days for sightseeing) and were very pleased with how clean the room was - always our priority. The bathroom was fine with a good shower and also perfectly clean. We had the room made up each day. I would maybe recommend upgrading to a room with a view or balcony as our room overlooked the courtyard and anyone opposite or walking along the hallway could see into our room so it was necessary to keep the shutters closed. However, the weather was hot so it kept the room cool. The aircon was very good. No fridge or safe but not a problem. There is a small grocery store near the hotel where we could get water and other cold drinks. The hotel is very central and convenient to see all the "sights". As we were there for several days, we walked to the viewing point via a medieval bridge and historic gate - approx 5 miles there and back. Also there is a nice walk following the Ecological River path, as well as a walk around the perimeter of Toledo following the City Walls, and crossing another medieval bridge and historic gates. We also took the train to Madrid and visited the Cathedral and the Royal Palace. Entry is half price for people over 65. The only downside was the breakfast, which was very limited in choice, and was somewhat repetitive as we were there for 5 days. Unfortunately no muesli or fruit salad and the croissant was huge and very sweet. Fresh orange juice was the only healthy...

I really can't understand why Hotel Santa Isabel is classified as a 2🌟 property; it has so many positive things to commend it! First and foremost is the thoughtfulness of having an English speaking staff. I was somewhat taken aback that this is not the norm in Spain's hospitality industry. I was extremely grateful to be able to communicate any questions I had and receive helpful information in return. Also high on the list is a desirable location: Hotel Santa Isabel is nestled in a junction of two streets not too far from Toledo's famous cathedral. I loved that it was quiet both day and night, as if I was in an oasis of peace, and the rooftop patio was perfect to watch the sunset and then see the sights come alive with the soft glow of lighting after dark. The property itself is very clean and my room was immaculate in every way. There were no chips, old stains, or threadbare linens. The maintenance is top notch. The breakfast service is a lovely addition and the coffee is quite good. Every single staff member I interacted with was friendly, welcoming, and polite. Hotel Santa Isabel is managed with complete competency and professionalism. My quarters were a big part of my choice to extend my stay in Toledo, and I will be happy to visit again during my next trip to Spain. Next time I will be sure to request a room with a view on an upper floor ~ make sure you do so when booking. I highly recommend Hotel Santa Isabel as a choice...

Toledo Santa Isabel, Rather a 3 stars than a 2! The hotel is lovely, its location is perfect, minutes to everywhere in Toledo and 10-15 tops to the farthest points of interest. So you can come back and take a rest anytime. The beds are wide and the mattresses firm. The shower is excellent with an exceptionally strong pressure and hot water (be careful though as it can be truly boiling) And the service is one of the best I've experienced. Ok, there is no fridge, not critical, nor a safe in the room, but it's not a problem as the hotel with a 24/7 reception filters all in and out. And then 2 exceptional goodies: First, the hotel is directly accessible by taxi right to its door, meaning you don't have to walk 10 minutes from the bus station in plaza Zodocover, which is not easy of you have significant luggage on the paved narrow streets. Second, you can sit on the terrace on the roof and enjoy a terrific sunset with a view on the cathedral and the Alcazar, actually on all the city, with a bottle of wine, or like us with a fruit and cheese dinner. Just look at my pictures. PRICELESS! If I could, I'd give a 6 star rating!
