Was looking forward to a nice plate of gambas plancha (prawns in the shell cooked on the grill). I’ve had this dish many times in Spain and in Torremolinos. In the back street cafes you can bank on a plate of 6 or 7 LARGE prawns which are juicy and delicious. In Bar Jerez we got about 12 very small and VERY dry prawns and they were twice the price! I ate one but it was unacceptably dry! We also had a plate of clams and this was by far the worst plate of clams I’ve ever had. They were tiny, around quarter of them were dead/unopened and every single one was gritty with sand. This can easily be avoided by letting them filter themselves in sea water but not here. I wanted to tell them to please find a new supplier but assumed that they don’t care and don’t eat their own food as I’m sure they would eat these clams once and end their business with their current supplier. We had some other food items which were ok. Chicken nuggets for the kids etc (hard to get wrong) the staff were good. I told the waiter when he brought the bill that if he can get the prawns taken off the bill he could keep the money as well as the tip. He came back and said his manager told him that as I had ordered the prawns I must pay for them. He agreed with me the prawns were not good. 🤷 do yourself a favour and go to the smaller places in the back streets of Torremolinos. Much better food at...
Read moreOne of the worst experiences I have ever had at a restaurant. Terrible service, meh food. The waiter was astounded that we were not fluent in Spanish and proceeded to ignore us for over half an hour to the point where we were about to walk out. He avoided eye contact with me and my friend and when I shouted him over he rolled his eyes at me as if he had given us any sort of service. I would say that the place is understaffed but I believe that the server simply has his priorities wrong. We asked for the bill 4 times however the waiter saw it fit to clear tables, take orders and invite new people to sit down with existing customers...
Read moreBeen here a few times now and the tapas is decent not too expensive, drinks are good too.....couple things that really let down the place is Slow service, so if your not planning to go anywhere for awhile then you'll be fine It's not child-friendly place so if you have small kids or a baby then I'd advise to go somewhere else. Don't understand the huge bathroom but no changing mat for babies and not even one high chair? Owners could invest in these two little things that could make a big difference for families. Nice location though especially if you love people watching and great spot for live music...
