The ambience is nice and the gambas pil pil was wonderfuld. If only that was the case for the rest of our adventure at the Copacabana. The wait time was long. Too long before we could order. I’d say around 20-30 minutes, and the bar wasn’t that busy. It was half full. We requested an ashtray and some drinks, however the request wasn’t met until those 20-30 minutes of waiting were finished. We tried getting in contact with the waiters who didn’t really do anything — that is to say we didn’t interrupt them. They “pished” us away with hand gestures; we even saw one waiter take his hand, up to his nose, pick it, and then proceed to pick his ear followed by a good ol’ roughing of his hair. What a view in the middle of a restaurant that otherwise has, as stated previously, a nice ambience. The fried common fish was cute, but half of the plate was small pieces of fried batter with no fish or squid. Our beers were flat. The female waitress, as sassy as she was funny, was a diva that fit right in with the table’s humour. However I do question the hospitality of her, as she seemed to want to get back to chatting with the cooks instead of tending to customers. The cherry on top of it all was the bill. Imagine this, you’re waiting quite a long time, so you request some bread for the table. It’s quite stale, but that’s fine, if only we had oil or condiments to spice it up with. But we didn’t get any with this random loaf of bread. To finish this off, it cost us 10 euros, which was never stated by the menu we got or the waitress.
Go here for a drink maybe, enjoy the sassy waitress and then head on over to another bar or restaurant to debrief what the hell you experienced at the copa…...
Read moreAfter finishing fruit cocktails we asked not 1 but 4 waiters for ,,la quanta” and despite other customers were served around us we were ignored. After over 25min we eventually went to ask for bill short old man with long grey hair who appeared to be a manager (apparently ,,owner” of that place by his words). We also politely asked him why we were ignored by all waiters and he said probably you should run away so we could call police….
Then he started aggressively shouting that in the Spain we should speak Spanish and that he doesn’t care to be called RACIST! (We haven’t mentioned word racist at all) Ladies and gentlemen this is apparently the ,,owner” of restaurant situated in BUSY TOURIST RESORT!
We visited many restaurants and beach bars and experienced very nice treatment and polite behaviour by many Spanish waiters and managers but this place is the worst we ever experienced!!!!!
If you are foreigner who came spend money to this beautiful sunny country and your spanish is not fluent or if you are Spanish who would feel embarrassed by behaviour of this miserable old man with obvious mental issues and preconceptions towards other nationalities AVOID THIS PLACE...
Read morehonestly really really overrated. The service was absolutely awful, we were seated in a seat that was completely wobbly the table was literally broken, when we asked to me moved the very rude waitress moved the table and looked at us as if it was all of a suddenly fine, once we eventually got moved to a decent table it took ages for someone to come and take our order (even drinks). we ordered two cocktails a starter each and a main each, one of the starters came out before our drinks and the other WITH OUR MAIN. Due to the severe language barrier the sirloin steak we had ordered came out as steak tartar which is absolutely vile to the both of us. my pork ribs were so average absolutely not worth the €25, again when trying to explain the issue it didn’t get resolved again because of the severe language barrier. All in all just a really bad experience and would not go back. All the staff were just running about the place so much so that a customer bumped into one of them causing a cocktail to spill with the waitress then cursing at them which it was obviously...
