La Ponderosa — Restaurant in Torremolinos

I’ve experienced some bad service and given some poor reviews but this is by far the worst place I’ve ever been. Let me start by explaining the open cesspit that is La Ponderosa and the awful staff that run it. You begin to ponder many things at La Ponderosa like why are there so many cockroaches running around the toilets and why is the kitchen also infested and it only gets worse, as you start to notice the other cretins that inhabit the restaurant….the staff! They’re arrogance in believing it’s fine to have cockroaches running riot and urine and feces waiting to be cleaned up on the toilet floor. This place is a filthy biohazard ☣️ an absolute disgrace and a complete waste of time. The only silver lining this place has is that the microwave used to cook the authentic Spanish meals can kill the cockroaches as I found out with my meal. The useless and incompetent staff offered to take €2 off the bill believing that was fair compensation for the mistake I made in visiting this attraction. Please take note and swerve this DISGUSTING FILTHY SWEATY PIT and enjoy the other far better local restaurants! Hopefully with any luck this place may soon shut down! Fingers...

Very good service very friendly and helpful I don’t there is a single mother with my child which can be stressful however they were very good. There was English-speaking waiters As well as Spanish they offered quarter , half or a full ration of food. However you need to state this when ordering. rosada frita is a great item to order it is basically white fish in a tempura batter or fish goujons it would be called in England, This is available at Most restaurant in Spain. The oxtail was amazing the pork in tomato sauce was also very good and the mix salad come with canned tuna on top was absolutely amazing. They also close on a Wednesday. Sadly we had to wait for quite a while (10+ minutes) for a waiter to ask if we had already ordered. Food arrived relatively quickly and was nice. Unfortunately it really felt like we were forgotten inside because we had to wait for a really long time after finishing our food, the plates were never picked up. Eventually to avoid further waiting we went to the front to pay. In other places we went to during our stay the waiters were much more attentive and didn't let the customer wait that long to order or pay.

Again, the food itself was nice and reasonably priced, but the service felt quite lackluster so we most likely won't be going here again for lunch. Might try breakfast when sitting...
