Expectations were high as I came on a recomendation from a friend. The deco is probably the best feature of the restaurant, with dimmed lights, plenty of wood and a tiki theme that meanders away with some confused looking budas. It is a rather small locale, and the tables are too close together making for some uncomfortable moments when you find yourself eating with the waiters behind in close proximity as he serves the next table. Foodwise the futomaki was obviously prepared well in advance as the nori was so chewy that it was imposible to eat in any other way than swallowing it whole. Soy sauce was poured form an industrial sized bottle by the waiter and taken away so I was unalbe to mix with the wasabi to my taste. The Canelones de rabo de toro, a pretencious conoction mixing italian with spanish and thai satay so sweet as to confuse whether I was eating an appetizer or a dessert. A culinary clash rather than culinary fusion. Salt flakes were sprinkled throughout the meal with abandon. Dessert consisted in a not so diluted mojito concentrate with milk. Waiters were either attentive but forgetful, sonefacedj and unreactive or rude and unduely familiar with us. A 20 to 30 minutes passed betwenn my main course and the arrival of the main course of my partner. All this for a not so modest bill means I will not be visiting again...
Read moreMy wife, the kids, and grand kids decided to treat me for dinner at Tiki (Sushi bar). We arrived at the restaurant at 8:30 pm, and waited for the host to seat us. The host (a bearded gentleman) was on the phone for quite sometime, and did not even look at us. When he hanged the phone, he asked us if we had a reservation. We looked at each other and looked back at all the empty tables in the restaurant, and replied that we don’t. He immediately told us, sorry but we are completely booked. We started walking away, but my wife decided to go back and ask to check for availability for tomorrow night. When she reached the host desk, there were two young ladies asking to be seated. The host asked asked if they had a reservation, when they said no he said no problem a showed them to a table. When my wife asked if there she could make a reservation for tomorrow night, he replied we are also completely booked for tomorrow night!!!!! The young ladies were talking to him in Spanish, while my wife was speaking to him in English. He did not know that my wife also spoke Spanish and understood every word in his discussion with the ladies. Unfortunately, racism and prejudice (ethnicity, race, color, and religion) still exist in this world till this day in our world, and could be found in every country. We all vowed not to step in this...

Cocktails are really good.
Atmosphere is intimate and very cosy. Lightning is quite dark and it was difficult reading the menu. We asked the waiter to turn up the light a little, but the staff declined. It is too bad for a place with such good food and a beautiful menu card with gorgeous pictures that you can’t read what’s on it.
Music is lounge and jazzy which suits the place.
Chairs are comfy but some of the tables are lounge furniture, so that is a bit unpractical for some to be sitting so low. I am quite tall and my girlfriend preganant so fortunately they did find us another table to sit at.
Service is really affective except for sundays - it was slow when we wanted to order.
The waitress was very sweet and super attentive. She also gave us small mojitos on the house.
The food was incredible - especially the scallops with parmesan and the oxtail cantelonis. The sushi was amazing as well.
For dessert we got the brownie, and it was more a chocolate cake than a brownie because of the consistency that was more dry than moist. The ice cream was coconut and we would have preferred vanilla.
Perfect place to share food.
Bathrooms were a bit worn out and could use a renovation.
We are definitely coming back - tiki has some of the utmost best...
