La Naviera — Restaurant in Torrevieja

When walking around Torrevieja, there are literally 100's of menus all within the 10-13 euro range. They all pretty much do the same thing. THIS is where it comes to a decision on where to go. TL chose Croquettes, not the most interesting thing. But this is where it sets a level. The Croquettes which were a sepia based, were heaven. I do not usually get excited about a deep fried ball. But, this was a light fluffy cloud of savory and umami indulgence that hit my mouth in a surprise and then melted into a creamy texture. The mains were good as well, TL did the entrecote, typical spanish sliced paper thin but she ordered it rare, the look on the servers face was drastic. But, her super paper thin rib eye steak came out, rare, and proprerly seared. It was quite impressive. And she Loved it. I did the merluza in a sauce and it was fine. Cooked perfectly, simple nothing to jump over a roof about. In conclusion. This is a really good choice for a proper Spanish meal. 100...

El restaurante no está mal, pero veo difícil que vuelva. Fue una comida familiar y se pidió variado de un menú que parecía correcto. Lo cierto es que las raciones eran escasas cuando no escuálido, lo que en algun caso era de agradecer dada la escasa calidad, como en el caso de la fideua, pero esto no fue lo mas hiriente, no. Juzga tu mismo. Tres de nosotros pedimos fideua, el resto filete de ternera (pequeños pero aceptable), pollo asado (muy bueno), guiso de costillas (picantes pero buenas. Ojo aquí casi todo lleva pimienta!), rodajas (perdón, rodaja, solo 1, y escasa como dice la foto). Bueno todo en esa línea. Lo sorprendente es inaceptable es cuando llega el camarero y sin opciones, nos dice y explica, que se han equivocado en una mesa que habían pedido una paella para 9 y han hecho una paella para 8 y ni cortos ni perezosos han decido darles una de nuestras raciones de fideua a ellos, cuando ya la habíamos pedido nosotros, y todo esto sin consultarnos ni disculparse ni nada. Nos quedamos sin palabras. Se le pidió alguna explicación y ni se molestaron en contestar. Nuca había visto nada igual y espero no verlo. Puntualizo que la fideua era de las de fumet con caldo Gallina Blanca y doble ración de sal, lo que lo hacía incomestible.

Mi opinión es que no se puede tratar asi a ningún cliente. Imagina que pasará de puertas para adentro!, dignos de un programa de Chicote!.

Los postres se sucedieron con altibajos. El pan de calatrava bueno y del tiramisu solo se parecía en el nombre, lo demás era incognoscible. En fin, el local es majo y ellos son amables pero tienen que cambiar mucho en algunos temas. Por cierto, me hizo gracia que me sirviera una fideuá un señor que tal vez fuera alemán u holandés, y creo que con eso se explicaba el desastre de aquello que nos...

What a great wee place! We sat in for the menu of the day and have to say apart from the portions being a bit small they were gorgeous but again, menu of the day so bound to be smaller I guess. Service was a bit too slow and when we asked for some alioli the waitress looked at us and had some kind "arm waving and head shaking" episode and went away, we never got our alioli!!! As for atmosphere it was difficult to measure because it was daytime and we were sitting outside and were the only 2 here, apart from these I reckon we will...
