BEWARE! Stay away from this restaurant! I will tell exactly how it happened, 100% so the manager can't weasel him out by lying here on google. Long review, tldr at the end.
I have eaten here a few times through the years and it's been fairly decent. Until last night. Before going I read some reviews here that said that the manager had overcharged their tab and had refused to correct it. The manager was also, according to the reviewer, rude and nonchalant. Even so I decided to get some food from here.
We ordered take away, 1 paneer (cheese) butter masala, 1 tandori chicken, 1 naan and 2 white rice. When I come to pick up the food a man (who I suspect from google review and later is confirmed to be the manager) is coming up to me with the bill. Everything is correct on the receipt except the paneer masala is lamb masala (nice coincidence that lamb is 30-40% more expansive). I say nothing because I like lamb and it's not like I'm gonna ask them to throw it away and make me a new one with cheese. Anyway when I pay I get the food and I say thank you, the manager looks away and just walks out. He had a very negative and rude attitude about him. When I come home I realise that the lamb masala, actually is a paneer masala! Now I know it's deliberately, which is fraud. We sit and eat outside in the dark. When we are halfway through the meal I realise that the tandoori chicken feels a bit weird, I go inside and check all the chicken and to my horror I see that both the chicken thighs are heavily undercooked. Now I'm furious. Spain has a big problem with salmonella and other harmful bacteria in their chicken.
Now I go down to the restaurant. I demand to speak to the manager. A waiter says he has left. I explain how I've been overcharged and show that the chicken is raw, 2 waiters and the chef look at it and agree that it's raw and that is not something they seem proud of. I had thrown all the food, I say because of the fraudulent behaviour and dangerously served food I'm not only demanding them to repay my bill (38 euro). I demand in principle 50 euro in my hand, for me and my family are bound to be very sick. The waiter says I must speak to the manager and can come back tomorrow as he has gone home for the evening. I refuse and make him call the manager who says he be there in 15min. About 15min later manager is suddenly in the restaurant in his same uniform as before as he probably hadnt't left and was hiding in the office. It is now that it is confirmed to me that the rude waiter from before and who also “miss charged” my bill is in fact the manager.
I tell the manager the same thing as previous waiters. He is nonchalant towards me again. He then starts to correct the receipt in the cash register. I ask what he is doing. He says to me that he is going to give me back for the overcharged masala and money back for tandoori. I explain to him that I want a full refund AT LEAST, but it would be more reasonable for him to put a 50 bill in my hand. He then just says the same thing over and over and we have this back and forth. I explain to him how unacceptable this is and how I do not care about the money and neither should he. As he never seems to want to compensate me fairly, I take the 10 euro bill and change that he has put on the tabletop and throw it towards him. I then leave telling him how outrageous this is while he smirks.
We will never eat here again, everyone we know will never eat here again. And I hope anyone who sees this won't either.
TLDR: Manager systematically overcharges (fraud) including me, was served raw chicken and refuses to compensate me fairly.
STAY AWAY. Now I hope we don't get...
Read moreWe decided after a disappointing visit 2 years ago, we would give it another go. Wished we hadn't!
We viewed the board outside & ordered exactly what was on menu. After the meal, the bill came & as previously, the owner added an additional item on. When challenged, he says we ordered different items to the menu. When shown the menu & the board which clearly demonstrated we had ordered the correct items with no extras, he still continued to overcharge us. Knowing he was found out, he went into the kitchen to avoid dealing with the complaint. Not wanting to cause a scene, I paid as I had eaten the meal & vowed to never ever to return again.
His attitude 2 years ago was poor & it is even worse now. He made us feel uncomfortable during the meal which we ignored but the overcharging is awful.
There are 2 waiters whom were working on the day, one with glasses & the other with a turban. They were lovely & we thanked them as we left as we felt sorry for them. It was the owner who chose to overcharge us.
I normally ignore what has happened but it is too often by too many people that Ranvir Classic does this sort of thing too....
Read moreWe visited today for dinner 2 adults 4 children. We was torn between the other restaurants on same strip but chose this unfortunately. The food was to be desired, our 2 younger children ordered omelette and carbonara which came out within 3 minutes of us placing our order I believe these meals were microwaved. We ordered a Bombay aloo starter which was ok potato’s were to firm in my opinion. The popadoms were not crispy giving me the impression they had been sat around for a while to go stale. The garlic rice tasted burnt which put me off the entire meal. The best part of the meal was the €4.50 koppenberg.
I would not recommend this place the restaurants next to it were much nicer and better value for money. We paid €100 for 2 kids meals, a vegetarian potato main 3 rices 3 naans, 2x popsdoms, chicken tikka & 5 drinks. Over priced for poor food, not to mention the staff seemed very miserable and like they didn’t want to be there. I noticed the man who took my order was doing up his belt as he was coming out of what looked like the kitchen which further put me off.
Wouldn’t waste your...
