In Tossa de Mar, I was treated to some of the most delicious Mediterranean food at Braseria Pini, a quiet, relaxing, restaurant in a natural setting with the sea as a backdrop. I met my friend for lunch, and we loved the beauty of the interior of the restaurant, with dark wood adding warmth and a light-yellow color scheme invites you to stay and enjoy yourself. We opted to sit outside, in the garden area, which was just as wonderful as the interior design. The stone walls and green foliage are perfect for a relaxing meal.
The service was impeccable, and every employee we spoke to was kind, friendly, and attentive. Everything we needed was provided with a smile. We both loved the crusty bread with tomato each of us had prior to our starters. I loved the bluefin Mediterranean tuna tartare, while my friend raved about the flavor profiles of his dish of chargrilled green asparagus with Iberico cured ham, Parmesan and Romesco sauce.
This restaurant understands the grill, and the dishes reflect that. My chargrilled langouste and scallops skewer was juicy, tender, and cooked just long enough to get the flavor of the grill without an overpowering “burnt” taste. My friend’s chargrilled lobster was seasoned with garlic, chili, and sun-dried sweet pepper and he enjoyed it so much he didn’t even save me a bite to try!
The desserts were abundant, and we couldn’t possible choose just one, so we shared an assortment, including chocolate fondant cake, crema catalana, apple tatin, tiramisu, macaron, vanilla ice cream and waffle.
I would eat here every single time I visit Tossa de Mar, as every dish was prepared with quality ingredients and care. From incredible service and a friendly welcome, to the beautiful setting and cuisine that tempts your taste buds, Braseria...
Read moreAmazing place! My partner, myself and our little baby went here for lunch yesterday. Even though we had no booking the person who looked like the manager for lunch went beyond to accommodate us on a table with our baby!
We ordered avocado salad as a starter, then dry black rice paella with scallops and calamari, and for dessert pistacho tiramisu.
The food was absolutely delicious! We enjoyed every single bite of it! Specially the paella! Portions are also very generous so keep that in mind. Price is a little bit more expensive than other places you might find around but it's was worth it nonetheless!
Next time we are in town we would probably go for the menu of the day as it looked also amazing and very generous portions!
Highly...
Read moreThar was the worst dinner of the trip so far. I love duck, so was very excited to see Foie gras and duck breast on the menu. I asked waiter how Foie gras is prepared and he explained that it’s a largish piece of a liver. What I got instead was a fairly small disc of some Foie paste with something like a torched sugar on the top. To add insult to the injury it still was frozen. But duck breast really took the cake. I ordered medium rare. What I got instead is a completely overcooked breast, very chewy and tough. There was no crispy skin or any of that nonsense. To top it off, they used the same sauce for both Foie gras and the breast. Super disappointed, esp ...
