Restaurant La Placeta was my favorite in Tossa de Mar hence my 5 star review I left in Trip Adviser this spring until recent visit. Thanks to a waiter/manager Guiseppe, who spoiled my experience. This is the first place I wanted to go when I arrived in Tossa de Mar, but when we came here with my husband this waiter brushed us away in a very rude way saying "closed, closed" without any "sorry, please come later". Next day I still wanted to give it a chance. When we came the same waiter disappeared just the moment we came in, although he saw us come in, so we had to stay and wait when we get seated. It was windy and quite cold in September obviously we wanted to sit near the fire or covered place, but "no, these are tables for four, not for two!", se we had to sit in an open wind space, even though all other tables were not occupied (and later were filled by COUPLES) Another couple came in and was put off the same way, they just left. Another company of four came in and left some time later without being served. Come on!!! This is not how you treat your customers especially in a low season!!! Of course the waiter doesn't care, it's not his money he is loosing. Non of the staff looked like they cared about anything to be honest. The food was so so, nothing special at all. Delicatessen foie gras tasted like a ordinary very fatty pate. Complete disappointment, will never return here again. We came to this restaurant hoping to enjoy a nice meal in what is undeniably a beautiful location, but the reality was shockingly unpleasant. The service was beyond poor – the staff were unfriendly, cold, and made us feel unwelcome from the moment we arrived.
When they saw that we were with a child, they simply refused to give us a table, with no explanation other than their disapproving looks. This kind of attitude is unacceptable anywhere, let alone in a hospitality business. The managers were just as unpleasant – visibly annoyed, with sour expressions, and zero willingness to accommodate or even speak politely.
The atmosphere is absolutely dead – no warmth, no life, no hospitality. It’s almost surreal how a place in such a beautiful setting can feel so negative. If you value good service, kindness, or a welcoming environment, this is NOT the place for you. Visiting here is stepping straight into a cloud of negative energy. Save your time, your money, and your mood – there are plenty of other restaurants nearby where you will actually be treated...

We made a reservation online for 20:30, by the time we found the place it was 20:40 and when they acknowledged us started talking to us it was 20:43. The hostess Vanesa, right off the vet was taking very rudely saying we are late and rejected us with the table saying no longer she has a table for us. We were with a small child and it is very impolite to make you go through the email reservation, wait for the response and have you wait for being seated and after saying she has no table for us. Also there is an international grace period of 15 min for a reservation or their confirmation email says nothing about any of the strict rules.
We were still here when she accepted people without reservation at the table that was designed for us. I think you should try better to make sure you are better at treating customers with respect and kindness.
