Very quaint restaurant in the walkway of the castle grounds. Had a light lunch here of mussels and it was delicious, all be it the mussels were very small not like the ones we are used to in Oz! Staff weren’t very friendly. No smiles or happy welcome!

We retuned for dinner as the food was good and other peoples dishes looked good too, but had a totally different experience. Again the Staff weren’t very friendly at all, again no happy welcome or smiles! They mixed up my dish, I ordered the monkfish stew but I got the turbot stew. I questioned this as it was very bony and not like monkfish at all, however they insisted it was monkfish. I said it’s very bony and not like monkfish? Think they thought they could pull the wool over my eyes but we eat monkfish in Australia all the time so I knew what I was talking about. The lady who took my order then came out and said it turbot sorry my mistake. I said I couldn’t eat it as it was too bony and you can’t see the bones in the stew, very dangerous! They reluctantly changed it for the monk fish. The way the staff or owners interact with the customers, sets the whole feel of the restaurant and unfortunately they let themselves down as the food is good but the whole atmosphere is unpleasant and they don’t make you...

We wanted to order Paella with wine. We found two different menus giving us all that for minimum 2 people, for 22 € each, but was told that we could not order any of those menus. They were unavaiable. We could only order various salads and tappas. We ordered two Caesar Salads and some tappas. They ended up giving us the wrong salads. Summer Salads instead of Saesar Salads. My wife got a new salad, but since I already had started to eat from mine, I didn't. I accepted it. While we sat there, two Spanish families, came, sat down and ordered the very same menu we were denied: Paella. They got their Paella, while we didn't. It was not a misunderstanding. I double checked, by asking for Paella two times, to make sure.

For us it seems that they have some menus just for tourists, and some for local people?

We came here with two young children and a teen. Food was quite good. Potatoes, burger, salad and grilled octopus all very nice although a cold meat board was very poor for the ~€17 charged (a few slithers of ham/pernil/jamón, chorizo, fuet and mortadella type meat (basically luncheon meat). One particular waiter was very inattentive even rude. What little he said was in French, clearly thinking we were French even though I’d spoken to him in Spanish. Two of our dishes took 15-20 minutes longer than the rest (including the cold meats) and when I mentioned that two of our dishes were missing he simply nodded and grunted and nothing appeared for another 5-10 minutes. Unfortunately my children can’t eat most of their meals without ketchup so we had to repeatedly ask for this before it was served, meaning that our children were unable to start their meals, and a patates braves dish that was very good was taken from us —by the same grumpy waiter—before we’d even...
