Beak & Trotter - Cabanyal — Restaurant in Valencia

This is a top burger joint for when you are out on the town of an evening. Sadly I made the mistake of going with the Bounut burger, which uses a sugary donut bun. I'm sure others would love this but not for me. Everything else was great though!

Sept 2023 update: we came by on a Friday evening hoping to grab a table without a reservation. Bad planning on our part, I agree. They were packed, had people with reservations coming and the outside tables were out of action due to an unexpected rainburst. So I get all that, but don't say you will get us a table when one frees up then leave us out in the rain for 25 minutes without another word. Pop your head out to give us an update! Or say 'sorry we have no tables'. The couple next to us out there were waiting just as long for a takeaway and were none too impressed either.

Clearly this place has earned a good rep, but reputations can be lost easier than they are won.

Sept 2023, the next day: we got in, and it was one of the best burgers I ever had in my life. Changing from 4 to 3 to 5 stars, but often in life it's important to realise that your first impression (or second) might not be...

The food is good, and the younger waiters are doing their best. The downside is that the manager/owner is there mostly trying to up sell. For example when you order a burger and fries and a juice, which you will need to order seperately, the guy will ask if you don't want to try any of their starters. And when your done eating, and tell them that the portions where to big, they will still ask if you don't want any dessert. They will not warn you that you are ordering to much. As in my opinion 2 burgers and one portion of fries is sufficient for two small adults. For the price (Avarage EUR 8 for a starter and EUR 14 for a burger and EUR 4 for fries) you can get much better food then a burger in Valencia. Location also not great as a lot of drug users and homeless people will come to your table and ask for money, food, etc. Not...

He venido exclusivamente a probar la hamburguesa del mes, promocionada por Aron Canet.🏍💨🤔

Como entrante pedí: 🍟PULLED PORK SWEET POTATO FRIES🥔 Patatas fritas de boniato con deshilachado de cerdo, queso Manchego y salsa Texas BBQ. (11€)

Estan buenas pero me esperaba algo más, más queso... nose.

Personalmente en la próxima ocasión probare con otro entrante 😊

🙋🏻‍♂️Llego el turno de las burguers:

🍔La SOBRADA (16€), y esque no es para menos.... lleva un blend de vaca mezclado con SOBRASADA, del que nacen dos pattys, junto con queso gouda ahumado, mayonesa de la casa y atentos: dos lochas muy crujientes de bacon caramelizadas con sirope de arce!

Pero como si no fuese suficiente, culminan esta hamburguesa con una salsa de higos, chocolate y jalapeños 🤯

🍞Han utilizado un pan pretzel que hace muy buena combinación con los ingredientes, y le da este aspecto que llama la atención por el color tan oscuro del pan.

🔝Tiene un sabor muy potente, peculiar y marcado por la salsa y la sobrasada, salado pero conforme vas saboreando encuentras el dulce en cada bocado.🔝

💬Creo que es de las mejores hamburguesas que he probado, siempre he dicho que de la carta la "Valencia" es mi favorita, pero después de probar esta... si me diesen a elegir, pediría las dos! 😂

🫷🏽Mi visita no terminó aquí, venia con hambre y pedi la BONUT Original: 🍔Cheeseburger, Cheddar y salsa burger en un PAN DE DONUT ARTESANAL GLASEADO y con bacon crujiente. Nada mal, no? Pues la pedí con 3 carnes. 😜 (18€)

Y lamentablemente no quedó sitio para postre. 🫣
