We came here during lunch. Pretty busy with lots of people, so we patiently waited in line for a table. The table that we got was a short table (ones used for having a coffee) and we sat in a cut up bathtub having lunch. It was a bit uncomfortable but we agreed on staying because the reviews were really good. The waitress gave us the QR-code for the menu and took the order of our drinks. After that we sat there for at least 20 minutes or more, without anyone noticing us, asking to take or order (because they were "busy"), but they helped new customers who came into the restaurant. I’ve been working as a waiter myself, and I know how it is on busy days, but if you can’t have a system where waiters have their own stations and look for their own tables, then it gets chaotic. And the restaurant wasn’t that big either, with three people working. Another waitress apologized after finally noticing us and we told her no worries because it was busy. We ordered patatas bravas, their chorizo hot dog and a pistachio pizza. The tapas was good, but the pistachio pizza was tasteless. There were no flavors whatsoever, it was like eating a cooked dough with lots of oil and ruccula. It didn’t get near the other pistachio pizzas we’ve tasted. Overall we got disappointed despite reading the...
Read moreReally nice little restaurant in Cabanyal which we visited on the recommendation of others and glad we did. We went on a Friday and would recommend booking beforehand. Seating available inside the restaurant and also on the small terrace outside. The menu was split into 3, with dishes from Spain, France and Italy. We tried the trio of sardines which were very nice, the vegetable croquetas also really good and cooked perfectly. The Iberian salad was elegant and tasty, and the house pizza was excellent. I wish I had taken photos on the night, but was too eager to tuck into the food! Do bear in mind that the portions are tapas sized mostly, so don’t expect massive plates. The restaurant also has a really nice drinks menu, and everything was reasonably priced. Staff were really friendly, helpful and bilingual. All in all, will definitely visit again and...
Read moreLa Cabanyaita is one of those places you stumble into and immediately feel lucky to have found. The service is super friendly and fast—like they’ve worked in a fancy restaurant before but decided they’d rather just make people happy in a cozy local spot.
The food is excellent. Everything tastes homemade, fresh, and full of flavor. You can really pick up on the mix of influences—French, Italian, and of course, Valencian. It all comes together beautifully. And the sardinias? Absolutely worth the trip alone. Just order them. You won’t regret it.
It’s the kind of bar where you can drop in for a quick tapa or settle in for the night with friends, good wine, and a table full of small plates. Simple, authentic, and full of heart.
For me a 9.5 out of 10! Would do it...
