Nice people serving us, and they took good care of us. The tacos were good, good tortillas and meats cooked well. But they lacked the sauces and herbs that are often present on the tacos in Mexico (and in California taquerias), so they were a bit dry.
The nachos were just ok, and arrived at our table a little cooled off, as if they'd been sitting too long after coming out of the oven. I admit, it is a pet peeve of mine when the food is not served hot, so this may bother you less than it did me.
All of the plates are 15€+, and felt too expensive for the amount of food that we got. If we hadn't ordered the nachos too, we would not have been satisfied with the 3 small tacos that we each got with our orders. Out the door, 2 taco plates, a nacho plate and 2 beers was more than 60€.
This place also has enchilada and fajita plates, ceviche and guacamole that we didn't try. The waiter steered us toward the tacos over the fajitas.
I couldn't help comparing it to TKO Tacos, which offers delicious tacos from 1€ to 3€ each, and this place does not offer that value and the quality is not high enough to make me...
Read moreYou might have read these 1 🌟 reviews as well, and wonder if you should give a try or not 🤔. My demaciado ♥️ eventually gave a (small) 5 for following reasons: Very friendly and attentive service by Flor and her boss. Pleasant atmosphere: it is very colourful indeed, but it is harmonious and it feels good. Toilets were clean. Food was very good and tasted authentic but there was still some room for improvement, especially for the dressings. We (2) shared a fish ceviche, a salad 🥗, 3x2 tacos, spicy salsas and 2 🍰, drank Mexican 🍻 and Spanish 🍷. I would have preferred a lighter but freshly pressed lime juice (it is from concentrated, as I read in a different reply from the owners) in the ceviche. As for the salad dressing, the boss promised he will improve and prepare a real dressing instead of offering oil and vinegar in a bag. It was still very good! Tacos felt low in salt and the desserts (🥕 and mango cakes) lower in sugar than average 👍🏻. In case you like a tinto, the Bobal is surprisingly good for its category, but do not (never) drink it with...
Read moreService was pretty good and I believe the owner was attending. He was very friendly and explained some of the art work.
I must be honest with the regards to the food though. My fajitas were drenched in oil without much spice. Decent but nothing great.
We also had 3 tacos which were ok.
The michelada was by far the best thing we had.
But my main issue with this restaurant is the pricing. Having spent time in Barcelona, I can confidently say this restaurant is overcharging to an excessive degree.
I was born and raised in Los Angeles, in no world should 3 basic tacos cost 16 euros. The markup on that is criminal. Over $6 a taco!!!
And I couldn’t believe they charged me 4 euros for salsa!? At a Mexican restaurant, what??? First off, those salsas were horrible. Second of all, your waiter didn’t tell me those cost extra.
I found that distasteful. I’m giving it 3 stars because I don’t like to damage small businesses but sir, please take my advice and adjust these prices and don’t try to extort customers for...
