Pans & Company — Restaurant in Valencia

Valencia is a beautiful city with loads of tourists and it saddens me to see that the staff at Pans and Company is discriminating and unfriendly towards minorities/foreigners.

We saw some customers from KFC sitting in their seating area and thought it was ok to do the same. Note those customers were Spanish. We decided to do the same as there was no seatings left in KFC during peak time, and would have gladly moved should we have been the only ones with KFC food.

The staff at Pans and company proceeded to only ask us to move as it is reserved for their customers. We then proceeded to ask in Spanish why the other customers were allowed whilst we weren’t. We were given a poor answer of ‘because the other table where they sat was dirty’ and did not even try to carry on the conversation. This was clearly racism. The rule should apply to everyone and if so, do so accordingly.

We ended up moving to another area of the mall to be respectful of the ‘rules’ which seems to only apply if you don’t look Spanish.

Avoid...

There are two bars for ordering, one for coffee and breakfast/brunch and the other for meals. I partially understand this is a Monday after a big local holiday at 11 AM but, if you are not going to be available for potential customers to make orders and all the staff is going to be doing whatever in the kitchen, then close this establishment until 1:00 PM for all of us to go to Starbucks. Additionally, I wanted coffee with a sandwich, so I am forced to order from two different places with no combos and have to wait for the staff to figure out who is going to...

Hoy sábado 8 de abril, a las 15h hemos sido tratados de malisimas formas por una camarera de sala cuya educación brillaba por su ausencia. Indicar que nosotros hemos cometido el error de sentarnos en las sillas con comida de otra empresa, al ver que otras personas también estaban comiendo con comida de fuera. Las formas de esta amargada camarera han rozado lo rudo y barriobajero. Pues directamente nos ha dicho alzando la voz y con tono despectivo: "¡Aquí solo se puede comer con comida del pan's and company!". Sin decir nada, nos hemos levantado y acto seguido, la señora nos ha cerrado las correas (que previamente estaban abiertas) que delimitan el perímetro de las mesas. Le hemos dicho si hacía el favor de abrirnos y nos ha dicho gritando que" ¡NOO, QUE YA ESTOY HARTA, QUE TENÉIS UNA SALIDA AL FINAL." Llevábamos un carro de bebé y atravesar todas las mesas hasta llegar a la salida era realmente complicado sin molestar a otros clientes. Le hemos pedido que abriera, que no le costaba nada, y nos ha abierto gritando mientras todo el mundo miraba" ¡ES QUE ESTOY HARTA, AQUÍ NO SE PUEDE COMER DE FUERA. ES SOLO PARA PAN'S AND COMPANY". Ella sola ha armado un espectáculo que se podría haber evitado si sencillamente hubiese pedido las cosas de buenas formas y con la palabra "disculpad" por delante. Nada... Repito nada, ni la amargura interna de una persona es excusa para hablar así a los clientes. Estos comportamientos sólo ensucian el buen nombre y el prestigio de una...
