Sibuya Urban Sushi Bar — Restaurant in Valencia

I have eaten twice at Sibuya and enjoyed the food. On that premise I took some friends who were visiting for dinner 4.8.23. The service and food were good until we ordered drinks. We ordered a vodka and tonic. The quantity of the first one ordered seemed a little under, with three large cubes of ice on it. As the drink was so overpowered by the tonic we ordered a second a little while later and that had even less liquid in it. When we asked to speak with the manager that night, he said the legal amount is 5mm and that they had actually given us 10mm. After which we said we didn't want the drink as there literally was not even a mouthful. He then said we could not do that. We insisted that we didn't want it and we were not going to pay for that drink, to which he responded 'are you sure?' He then behaved in the most shocking, inappropriate and unprofessional manner. He grabbed the glass and in the process knocked it over spilling the drink on my friends mobile phone saying he was going to call the police. A short time later he returned, flustered wiping the spilt liquid and apologising profusely saying we caught him in a bad moment and that we would not be charged for the two vodkas. We visited this restaurant last evening and had a mixed experience. One notable limitation is that they do not offer traditional chilled sake, only a sparkling version, which may not appeal to all guests.

Regarding the food, the rice on both the uramaki and nigiri was undercooked, resulting in a dry and firm texture that affected the overall enjoyment of the sushi. Additionally, the quality of the fish seemed limited, and the use of mustard as a finishing touch on the eel nigiri was an unexpected choice that may not suit traditional sushi preferences.

On the positive side, the fried gyoza were well-executed with a satisfying crispness, and the chicken yakitori was cooked properly and enjoyable.

However, service was a noticeable drawback. The staff appeared undertrained, which impacted the overall dining experience. Improved training and attentiveness could significantly enhance the restaurant’s appeal.

It was a terrible place. There were at most 10 people in the restaurant. We waited for rolls for 40 minutes. We wanted to leave and cancel the order. The waitress refused to cancel the order, told us that these are rolls, not McDonald's. They take 40 minutes to cook. Also, according to her terms, they only have one chef. As well as one waitress. Huh! I know what rolls are and how long they take to make. That's not my problem. I'm sure they just forgot about my order and then refused to cancel to make a profit.
