A TRUE HIDDEN GEM! This was my second visit, as the first time, I really enjoyed the experience! The overall decoration reminded me a little bit of Scandinavian style, I would say minimalist & functional. The diffused cold white lighting scattered in the dining room, it was perfect to spot the staging of the presentations of the dishes, and the space between tables was carefully placed to preserve the required privacy.
The quality of the table linen and cutlery were neat, well-polished, not pretentious, but pleasant to the touch. We ordered 2 starters to share, paired with a couple of nicely chilled draught beers. We were served first the pan-seared squid in ink and then Valencian tomato garnished with some slices of sweet onions, chunks of tuna belly dressing with olive oil and balsamic vinegar. All well-presented and the quality of the ingredients were top notch.
The main course was duck rice with special mushrooms. The flavour, colour and texture were simply amazing, but I just want to point out a couple of details that make this duck rice stands out among many others; the duck was carefully deboned, nicely semi-shredded and skinned, so you can still noticed many pieces of duck in the rice; and the second detail was the rice was cooked to perfection without any crusts and not even a single drop of cooking oil was covered at the bottom of the paella pan.
We paired the rice with a bottle of red wine from Certified Origen of Ribera del Duero, wisely recommended by Mr Rafael, it was a delicious and affordable wine.
We ended up with 2 desserts paired with 2 Amaro herbal liqueur and 2 cups of coffee.
The attention was exquisite all the time, we never felt neither overwhelmed nor neglected.
Well it is time to deal with the bill, the hardest part of the review hahaha This time, I was treated by my lifelong friend JV, but in the first visit we were also 2 diners and we ordered some similar amount of dishes, also a bottle of nice white wine, the bill was about eu 80.00 aprox., it was a fair price.
Remark. This is my honest review. I would definitely recommend everyone to give it a try, it is a true hidden...
Read moreAbsolutely appalling. Restaurante Levante Valencia should be ashamed to call itself a reputable establishment. From the moment we sat down, we were harassed non-stop by staff aggressively pushing drinks on us — and not just once. No fewer than three different waiters came one after the other to pressure us after we had clearly said no. Is that their idea of hospitality?
For a place that pretends to be “high-caliber,” there was no amuse-bouche, no basic courtesy like water, not even the slightest effort to make guests feel welcomed. It felt like they were more interested in upselling than actually serving.
Now let’s talk about the insult they call a “seafood paella.” For 44 euros, we got a bland plate with two lonely shrimps. TWO. That’s not just disappointing — it’s borderline robbery. It was tasteless, dry, and completely lacking in generosity. It’s laughable that they serve that and expect customers to walk away satisfied.
Save yourself the money, the frustration, and the fake prestige. There are countless better places in Valencia that actually care about their food and their customers. This place is a total scam hiding behind a name it no...
Read moreAbsolutely out of this world experience. Skip expensive tourist traps and visit this gem in a residential neighborhood off Turia park. Staff was super quick to communicate via WhatsApp to schedule a reservation and was willing to accommodate our change in schedule. When we got to the restaurant, we were greeted like family. Staff has been excellent. We pre-ordered paella Mixta and it was the best ever. Throughout dinner service, the staff was responsive, polite and extremely engaging. Excellent desserts. Excellent house wine. We went on a Sunday afternoon, when everybody in the restaurant was with an extended family, celebrating something or just having a leisurely meal together. The manager spoke perfect English, and we were able to communicate with the rest of the staff with the help of Google translate. The reservations are a must, but please note they take reservations only one month in advance. Surprisingly, parking was not a problem on a...
