Restaurante asador El Figón de Recoletos — Restaurant in Valladolid

I have eaten at El Figon twice in the last two months. Both times for lunch and following a suggestion of a local businessman. On these two occassion, I had the opportunity to interact with two different maitre's. Both times, the lechazo, my main reason for eating there, was very good. I strongly recommend it. As an accompaniment, either salad or pimientos asados will make for a complete meal. However, what I found most impressive about this restaurant is the professionalism and knowledge of both of the maitre's with whom I interacted. Their advice/suggestions are geared to make you a customer. Not to sell you items that will increase the size of the bill. They will tell you when you are ordering too much and steer you with good recommendations. The place is very nice and traditional. Service was great, the food was good but definitely nothing spectacular and for the price we were expecting a bit more to be completely honest. It might have been we got not the best portion or day but the meat (lechazo) was a bit dry and that was disappointing. I will still give it another try since it is a well renowned restaurant and all starters were very good such as the artichokes, mollejas or chorizo. So I would recommend you to go but lower your expectation of being the best meal ever and just enjoy the place the location and go there knowing you will have good food and good service, maybe just not...

Buenas tardes La comunión de mi hijo fue decepcionante desde que nos sentamos en la mesa hasta q nos levantamos. Nada más llegar los camareros q me atendieron me preguntan que si tenía menú, cuando estaba todo hablado y requete hablado. Lo hablo con ellos y perfecto nos sacan el jamón ( seco y muy poca cantidad para el precio q tiene) después viene Rafa el jefe de sala y me dice q los torreznos q tenía después se los había dado a otra mesa por equivocación y q no tenía más, q lo sentía pero q eligiera otro entrante… mi cara un poema! Al final elijo otro entrante y bueno bien Después nos traen en lechazo ( q me habían dicho previamente q un cuarto para dos personas) nos lo traen todo troceado y en alguna bandeja parecía q había menos… le pregunto a los camareros, perdona en cada fuente hay un cuarto? Y me dijo no se tendría q preguntar y al volver me dijo hay algo más… lo más normal es q pongan un cuarto para dos personas en cada bandeja como se nos informó y no así porque dudo muchísimo q hubiera medio lechazo en cada fuente Respecto a la tarta, yo la había cambiado la del menú y aparecen los camareros con la tarta del menú q no sabían nada, ya se lo digo y nos traen la nuestra…. Un desastre absoluto!!! Q por cierto estaba muy buena pero la sorpresa fue al pagar q me cobraron 120€ por la tarta para 15 personas!!! Una locura!!! Y respecto al ticket pues incomprensible q me dice q me bajaba el menú porque habíamos bebido poco vino y pocos cafés y de bajar de precio nada! Encima me cobra 12 tostas de entrantes cuando nos pusieron 11 y al decírselo su respuesta fue: no fueron 12 q las puse yo. Siendo mentira!!!
