Don G — Restaurant in Vitoria-Gasteiz

I've been coming to Vitoria regularly for the last 3 years and I'd got into the habit of eating at Don G at least once on each trip, because what they had to offer was attracting. Last year I was already hearing bad things about this restaurant chain, but I didn't have any particular problems. Unfortunately, this latest experience was so disappointing that I'll never go back.

I was the only person there and as soon as I arrived, I was badly received. The woman at the counter was totally discourteous, adopting a firm and curt tone towards customers, which is far from pleasant.

The quality of the products became catastrophic. The bacon had an unappetising texture and a vile taste. The chicken on the Modesta burger was undercooked, even though we were the first ones there, so they had plenty of time to cook it properly and prevent their customers from getting sick (especially with meats like chicken). As for the meat of the "Barbara" burger, it was simply inedible: hard bits of cartilage, dubious parts (fat or other). It was so bad that it was the first time we hadn't been able to finish our burgers.

The only good thing was that the kitchen staff were friendly. I had asked for more sauce in my burger, which they did without any problem. My chicken, which was unfortunately undercooked (pink inside), was also taken back to be re-cooked, and they did this with kindness.

What was once a decent affordable fast food place has become unacceptable. I strongly advise against this place. It's best to go...

A close friend of mine has brought me here and since then I have been nagging every day of my visit to Vitoria to go there for lunch or dinner. Greatest bang for value to try local cuisine from sandwiches to steakes. Food is mainly, as my friend has referred to it, a workers food that his grandma would have cooked. El pasado sábado cené en este local. La comida fue muy buena considerando que se trata de un sitio de comida rápida. Sin embargo, mi experiencia se vio empañada por el comportamiento de una de las camareras, específicamente de la encargada de asignar los asientos. A pesar de que había varios lugares libres disponibles para dos personas, insistió en ubicarnos junto a la basura o cerca de un grupo numeroso de gente. A pesar de expresar nuestra preferencia por otro lugar, nos colocó junto al grupo grande. Pero eso no fue todo. Cada vez que pasaba cerca de nuestra mesa, hablaba en voz alta , refiriéndose a nosotros como “desagradecidos” o “maleducados” por no querer cambiar de sitio. Además, hacía gestos y movía mesas y sillas con mucho ruido mientras acomodaba el lugar para otras personas. Sin duda, volvería por la comida, pero espero que la atención al cliente mejore mucho...
