Ocean Homemade Food — Restaurant in Yaiza

We had a faulty towers style disaster of an experience. Some of which was lost in translation (but yet orders were repeated back to us, and we were pointing at the menu for parts). Ordered cocktails to start, but the bar staff weren't on duty. They could do Aperol Spitz tho. Unfortunately, it was served with a lime slice in the glass, which we promptly removed, but the taste lingered. Ordered a bottle of wine; two glasses arrived. Wine was good, however. Ordered 1 more glass. A different more expensive wine came. Our (2) starters came. One of which was wrong. The right dish was served up a few min later. Mains came, 1 of which was wrong again. Pizza Carbonara instead of pasta. We accepted the mistake, as pizza looked good and didn't want the fuss. Wished we hadn't, as the pizza was not great. Neither of us managed to finish even half of our mains. Decide to finish the night somewhere else...

Wow! What a fantastic meal! The setting is beautiful, with a mix of covered indoor space and an expansive outdoor balcony with full views of the sea and harbour. We had starters including the fried cheese and marmalade, and salci papas, both of which were generous portions and very tasty. The mains we chose included homemade pasta with red wine and special pizzas. We had the homemade dessert of tiramisù, a generous portion that tantalised the taste buds. The staff were highly attentive and very entertaining. They spoke fluent Spanish, English and some German, being very friendly and even chasing after us after we left forgetting our pizza box. I fully recommend Ocean for a visit and intend to revisit whenever I return...

We celebrated my father in laws 60th birthday yesterday evening. I booked ahead months in fact, Elizabeth and the team work so hard to make sure every guest is well cared for. I asked if we could have some decorations and boy they did not disappoint! A big 60 balloon smaller ones and a cake and music.

The food was fantastic, the portions were massive we couldn’t even finish the main course and we brought our pizzas home.

We were a group of 11 including a 6 and 1 year old, we were kept topped up with the best drinks available. Good music and vibe and reasonably priced.
