What a shame. This used to be a lovely place. Unfortunately we visited yesterday and they had no recollection of our booking we made online. The lady was very short with us but did find us a table although with little space meaning everyone going to the toilet had to push past the back of my chair. There is little atmosphere, no music, very bright lighting and lots of mix matched clutter. The pizza chef was shouting and swearing throughout the whole evening (my husband is Italian so we understood ever word) and throwing plates and utensils around. At first it was comical, an Italian version of faulty towers, however it became uncomfortable and the staff were being verbally abused which meant the service was affected. The arancini were cold, dry and tasteless and my pizza was shaped like an aubergine and burnt. They did change all the food quickly but it was still very dissapointing. Cheap but definitely...
Read moreWhat a find. Friendly service from walking in to saying goodnight. The food was absolutely delicious. From the Parmigiana, which was nearly gone before I took the photo, to the pizzas made with proper pizza bread and loads of fillings. Then a superb Tiramisu which I completely forgot to photograph in our haste to tuck in.
We were totally pigged out. P.S. We had to make a second visit, same result.
2023 Here yet again, we can't come to Playa Blanca without dining here. Started with Tomato and Mozzarella Focaccia. Then a Calzone pizza, the bread here whether as pizza base or Focaccia or whatever is fabulous. We normally finish with Tiramisu but we spotted a Tiramisu variation which I think was called Lush. This was based on a Strawberry and Limoncello cream and was delicious, I can recommend it as it was lighter and more refreshing than the...
Read moreWe had seen a few recommendations for this place on a Playa Blanca facebook page so decided to book.
Personally, I probably wouldn’t recommend. We ordered the porcetta (pork) main. It came with roasted potatoes and green beans. The pork was nice. A good portion slice of belly pork but the potatoes weren’t amazing though, they were a little hard for my liking.
Other half had a beef and pork ragu tagliatelle. Unfortunately this was on the bland side. Wasn’t a massive portion either to compensate.
The real downer was the mozzarella ball starter, that we ordered as a side. Do not order these. They are tiny and tasteless. I expected a mozzarella stick/dipper type thing, but was let down. Bland cheese, bland sauce and tiny for the money.
Service was ok. Quirky place. If I was to return I’d have the pork belly...
