Bokoto Zaragoza — Restaurant in Zaragoza

I am at a loss for words. Never have I ever had such a horrid sushi experience. The first plate was bad and each plate they brought out was worse than the last. It was so bad I was begging for the experience to be over. I am writing this review as I sit at the restaurant with a bowl of stale fried rice in front of me.

The tuna tartar was dry, brown, full of skin and flavorless. The yema de huevo was overly cooked. This was the first plate that came out and was the start to an abysmal experience.

We ordered the trilogy tuna nigiri- each piece of tuna was increasingly leathery and dry. What is going on here?

I didn’t know fried rice that tasted like it was fried in water existed. The chicken, no, the entire dish tasted like it had been in the fridge for 4 days and then reheated and served.

It is truly a shame because our waitress was extremely kind, took time to explain everything to us, and treated us very well. The second star is for service alone, I have no doubt that it is a team of wonderful people. But I cannot understand how the people in the tables near us were enjoying their food so much. I would put 4-5 stars, cause the quality of the food was good and tasty. The BIG minus and the thing that made me want to run away from the place immediately, was the service of the waiter that was assigned to me in the terrace. I got a reservation today (30.5.22), wanted to treat myself a bit with my favorite dish, salmon poke, and relax a bit after a busy day. The rude attitude of the waiter made me feel very uncomfortable, he was constantly rolling his eyes on me and felt like he was being ironic and super annoyed that I came to the restaurant. I was trying to find a reason why he was being that way. I wanted to leave from the first second he came to me, felt very unwelcome and just tried to eat and pay as fast as i could. a Bonus was that he brought me the poke bowl without any sauce or anything and I had to go bring it myself after a while. For me Bokoto makes the best sushi I have ever tried in Spain, I’ve been living in Spain for 12 years. The texture of the rice it’s amazing, it’s how it’s supposed to be, honestly I don’t understand why other sushi restaurants can’t make a rice that way. Also they put good proportion of fish 👍🏻 from what we ordered I only would say that edamame was too salty, even though tasty, and dragon roll had bittersweet sauce that was unnecessary in our opinion, without that sauce it would be better. But other than that everything was good! I also mentioned that the form of rolls is perfect, inside all of them had perfect circle, which means proportions are correct and the way they are rolled also correct, I would say prefect.
