KFC - Colombo 7 — Restaurant in Colombo

Re adding my review again after 2 months because the review I posted about my visit on the 14th of March 2025 was not being shown

Absolutely horrid place.

As soon as we walked in all the tables were strewn with food, plates and trays. There were about 12 tables and only about 4-5 were being used by other customers- the other 7 tables were just covered food and plates left over by previous customers which had never been cleaned. We had to find the least dirty table and clean it ourselves before we sat down.

When we ordered, we were quoted 20 minutes for the food to come, which in itself is a long time for fast food- in reality it was ready in about 35 minutes. Had to remind them a couple of times and they kept saying it’ll be ready in 2 minutes which it most certainly was not.

After having a couple of bites from my burger I noticed a spot under it- lo and behold it was mould! (note picture) When the staff was notified they just pretended like it was a mark that was made by a machine??? They did not take any responsibility or even apologise once. All they said was that it was because of a machine and that they’ll remake it. Only way this is possible is that if whatever this machine is, is also mouldy!

After waiting for about 15 minutes for the new burger to be made, the staff member brought it to the table and dropped the plate in front of me and walked off. Again, not even a word of regret for the inconvenience caused or for the mould served to a paying customer. The staff member looked evidently sick and tired of his job from the get go even when placing the order- almost like we were there by force and he was doing us a favour by even taking our order and our money.

The replacement burger was clearly made haphazardly as there was even an onion root in it! (note picture) The burger was full of onions anyway(both the mouldy one and the new one) which I don’t mind, but not even caring and putting an onion root in it is absurd! 15 minutes to make a simple burger, and still managing to put in an onion root is just...

My last experience here was really disappointing. I went there around 8PM with some friends, and we wanted to have snackers. However it wasn't available , so we decided to go for regular biriyani. However they were a bit doubtful whether they can provide 3 biriyanis, but they did anyways. Anyways , the worst part was the taste of the biriyani. Speaking as someone who has KFC biriyani every week from the Kandy outlet (which is absolutely delicious in Kandy outlet btw) the taste and the quality of the biriyani at racecourse quite literally shocked me. The rice was definitely half cooked and was really hard to chew, and was super sticky, not mixed properly (almost white) and unappealing too. Since I'm someone who is obsessed with KFC chicken biriyani and orders it every week from the Kandy outlet, I could easily spot the difference in taste and quality. It also made me loose the appeal and obsession over the KFC biriyani in Kandy or anywhere else as well. I don't feel like ordering a biriyani ever again from any KFC outlet , after tasting that half cooked, hard and almost white rice that was supposed to be " biriyani", at...

Staff could be a little more pleasant towards the customers. Overall it's a bigger place compared to other restaurants in the area. We loved Hot Drumlets with it's strong taste of spices. Their burgers and Wraps range is not to share cuz it's only enough for one, but truly it's finger licking good !

One of the crowded fast food restaurant in the area. Mostly here for lunch. Well thing about KFC s is it's pretty much the same everywhere so my review is mostly focusing on the service and other stuff. Food is good but too much oil in their chicken.

Staff is really good, last time I was there they were really helpful to get me the best option for me and my friends. It's quite big and very spacious inside but last time I was there it was renovating therefore only very few numbers of tables were available.
