Situated in a relatively quiet neighbourhood this place has an ambience of it's own. From the entrance to the seating it astonishes you in every step. The moment you enter you smell that fresh coffee smell which is so refreshing. Went on a weekend so the place was full. No need of booking ahead but can be done if you want. Parking space is limited and due to the ongoing security concerns you have to park opposite to the premises. Being a two storied cafe it has all sorts of seating options from couples to small groups, even small conferences can be held here. Upstairs there is an open balcony area which is smoker friendly. You can spend hours and hours here and the calm and quiet atmosphere give a little push to that idling urge. Plus this place comes with free WiFi! Perfect for geeks. Coming to food, this place is renowned for their refined coffee but if you expect a great collection of edibles you will be disappointed. This is the only pescatarian restaurant I've seen in colombo, so if you are a meat lover this is not the place. But the selection of beverages is top notch and won't disappoint you. We ordered Dark Chocolate latte and Cafe caremal latte which tasted divine. If you visit this place trying those two is a must. From edibles tried Tuna salad and Fish pot pie. Both were ok, but texture wise and in terms of quality of food, I have tasted better ones. Tried their London House cheese cake which was superb and their chocolate brownie which was very average. Staff is very friendly and polite. There are no service charges nor government taxes. Definitely a place worth visiting if you are around to try...

The architecture was nicely turned this shop house into an old building with the hints of London. Polish wooden doors, dim lights, large cusion chairs made us feel very homey. They have seperate outdoor area, large washrooms, private rooms for parties and meetings.
Upon recommendation, we tried their Fish pot pie (rs. 650). It was so yummy, very hot, freshly prepared tummy filling dish and I would recommend for everyone. The black beauty in the picture was Death by chocolate(rs.450) So gooey, so chocolatte and thought we'll be dead after this overload. We got a large slice of Apple pie (rs.450). The pie crust was thin and flaky and the paste was nicely mixed with stewed apples, nuts and raisins, topped with cinnamon aroma.
Coffee at LHOC is bit on the high end from rs.400 - 600 eventhough their other dishes are resonably priced. In LHOC beverage menu, we ordered Dark chocolate latte (rs. 600). Not a single drop was wasted. Imagine how strong the cuppa was when you get coffee and chocolate in a single jar. Simply awesome.Thier Iced cafe latte (rs. 575) was something I was not a huge fan of. It was quite watery and struggled to finish it. Waste of money. The watermelon smoothie (rs.550) was superb. Thick and tasted fresh. All prices are inclusive of service charge and VAT . . . The waiters were well trained I must say. We were spending minutes to pick the order and once delivered to them, they were very clear and remembered all the items without even noting down anywhere. This is a must visit place is for all the Lankan Londoners for their great coffee and...
Read moreWe were in the neighborhood and we ended up going to London House of Coffee on 27 April 2025 as we wanted to grab coffee and a quick bite. We went and placed the order and went upstairs as they said that they will bring the order to us. We waited for some time and as the food and the coffee still didn’t arrive, we once again went downstairs to check what was happening and to figure out the reason for the delay. It seemed like they were doing their own work and have forgotten about our order. When we told them that it was getting late for us then they said that they’ll bring the food and the coffee fast. We actually got the food and the coffee some time after complaining about the delay. We ordered one cafe latte and an iced americano along with the food. Both the coffees were burnt and they tasted horrible (actually tasted like drinking charcoal). The taste of food that we ordered was average. Considering the other coffee shops in Colombo, London House of Coffee charge a higher price and it’s really disappointing when you cannot even serve a good cup of coffee to your customers for the price you charge. There were couple of girls working on that day and we clearly noticed that they had not been trained properly and they had no idea of what they were doing either. More than anything they were in a rush to get done with work and to leave. We left the place by leaving the coffees as it was as it was undrinkable. Definitely this is not a place worth...
