Giving this place 1 star because unfortunately there isn’t an option of giving a negative rating. I went to this place looking at the reviews and was honestly pretty excited to check it out.
The place was full so I had to wait for 14 mins to get a table which is alright as I was communicated that I’ll have to wait. After getting a table, the server came to my table to give me the menu. I kept sitting there for over 30 mins without any knowledge of the fact that I had to place my Oder at the counter. Since a lot of time had passed I thought I’d go and check with the server. Upon asking I was told very rudely that I had to place the order at the counter to which I was just surprised and replied “oh I had no idea because I wasn’t told”. The server at this point completely lost his cool and told me to my face “look do you want to order or not, I don’t have time for this. We are number 1 on Google so I don’t care about anything”.
He was abusive, downright rude simply because he was busy. He was dismissive and said “we are all tired and have so many orders so just order or leave” this happened at 11 in the morning.
I have never felt more insulted in my entire life. He accused me of creating a scene simply because I mentioned to him that “I had no idea we had to place our own order”
I’d rather go to a place where people talk with love and kindness in place of “google number 1” where you get greeted with arrogance...
Read moreI have been coming to Coffee Brunch almost everyday for my daily infusion of coffee. They also have a thoughtful menu selection of choices developed by their chef Hashen (hope I spelled it right) and I’ve tried practically everything in the menu and always with great satisfaction. Today a tried the spaghetti bolognese, and was very pleasantly surprised. I’ve tried this simple dish at different restaurants in Sri Lanka and Southeast Asia, and have been disappointed by the bolognese, and it’s only because the texture and preparation of ground beef is different everywhere in the world, no biggie. Hashen’s bolognese was a home cooking treat for me from the al dente spaghetti to the fine ground beef sauce and complimentary spices. I can’t not mention the owners Atheeq, Praveen; Alisha the amazing barista who creates delicious tasty coffees and drinks, and staff, of this little coffee house cafe who share love, community and comfort with their guests. They are located upstairs inside the Lanka Living Gallery which is a must go...
Read moreRead the bad reviews if you value your time and energy. We waited one hour for an avocado toast and one hour and half for a chicken burger. They will tell you that it’s because it’s freshly made but the truth is that they are only greedy and don’t want to hire more people to guarantee a decent waiting time to their customers. There were only one waiter and one chef for the entire restaurant, those workers are truly heroes. I do understand the high price for eating in such a lovely arty place but not for that type of service and attitude. When I went to pay, the rude lady at the counter had the audacity to call the only chef who was cooking to make my bill! And she made him charge us two glasses of sparkling water as “flavoured soda” for 6 USD! For that price we didn’t get a proper bottle to know the origin of the water (could be carbonated tap water) or ice or a fresh slice of lemon, what a joke. I would suggest to visit the gallery but not to eat here if you value your peace of mind. Don’t support greedy...
