Was a sweltering humid day and IOG was the perfect place to drop in. Staff was good, I don't know about the guy who said the delivery guys were bad but they were a joy to chat with and very nice. Atmosphere was good too, in short a decent place and good people. Influencers have a knack of showboating to gain followers and promotions but the honest to God truth is lost in their haste to plaster their faces on IG and TikTok. So here goes the truth for once, Is the gelato something to write home about with all the fanfare these people show? No. Don't get me wrong here, the flavours are good but it's not great. Puthalaum sea salt which was fan favorite was plain vanilla with rare to find 1 or 2 salt pieces. Glaring issue is there were no mention of the ingredients within the ice cream. This is very worrying as there might be kids or even adults who are alergic to nuts and other ingredients. The chocolate gelato is just chocolate gelato and that's it. The quantity for the price could have increased a bit as well IMHO. These guys should have had their own signature taste when it come to those plain old chocolate gelato to make you go Daaamnnn!!! BUT if you try one here you left wondering what is it that these influences bragged about here. I believe it's a disservice to not tell the truth so that they can improve and Yes, they can be the best. Make even the simplest taste better IOG, give each and every gelato a twist so when your customers try it they don't think it's just ice cream and why I payed so much for one. Instead let they say in truth, damnnn that's the best gelato I had while visiting SL. Will I drop in again when back, Yes I will. I want to see how IOG grow and incorporate their own twist...

Delightful Ice Cream Spot with Unique Flavors, Cozy Vibe, and Friendly Staff I absolutely love the Isle of Gelato, an ice cream place located inside the Galle Fort. Although it's a small place, the arrangements inside are charming with a balcony, swings, and outdoor seating options. The vibe is cozy and inviting, making it a perfect spot to indulge in some delicious ice cream. The ice creams at Isle of Gelato are incredibly smooth and come in a wide range of flavors, including options for vegans. Personally, I highly recommend the Passion fruit flavor - it's divine! One of the best parts is that you can sample the flavors before making a purchase, ensuring you find the perfect one for your taste buds. The staff at Isle of Gelato are friendly and provide excellent service. They are knowledgeable about the flavors and are happy to assist in making recommendations. Additionally, the convenience of card payment options adds to the overall ease of the experience. While there may not be parking available on-site, it's easy to find nearby parking options. Don't let that deter you from visiting this delightful ice cream spot. Isle of Gelato is a must-visit for ice cream lovers, with its unique flavors, cozy vibe, and friendly staff.

Isle of Gelato in Galle Fort is a delightful gem for anyone with a sweet tooth. Tucked away in a charming corner of the old fort, it offers a refreshing escape from the tropical heat with artisanal gelato that’s clearly made with love and attention to detail. The texture is smooth and creamy, and the flavors strike a perfect balance. Rich but not overpowering. Standouts include the pistachio, which tastes authentic and nutty, and the tropical mango, which bursts with natural fruitiness. You can tell they don’t cut corners on ingredients, and that makes all the difference. The ambience is inviting, blending the colonial charm of Galle Fort with a clean, modern aesthetic. Whether you grab a cup to go or sit by the window watching life go by, it’s a great little pause in your day. Service is friendly and efficient, with staff happy to offer tastings or recommendations. Prices are fair, especially given the quality and the setting. If you're exploring Galle Fort, Isle of Gelato is definitely worth the stop. Not just a treat, but an experience.
