Bamba — Restaurant in Göteborgs Stad

I only ended up here because I arrived into Gothenburg and checked into my hostel in the evening, and didn't have the energy to walk all the way to the city centre; this place looked close enough to my accommodation and had good ratings. Well, I'm not surprised it is and I'm so glad I came! I met the owner, Carlos, who was so welcoming and treated me like a friend. On the Thursday night I went it was quiet and I was able to enjoy reading my book for hours. I loved it so much that I went back on Friday night, where it was appropriately busy. Carlos still found a spot for me and was as friendly as ever. And what can I say about the food – it was fantastic. A small menu of very well-made dishes, authentically Swedish and extremely reasonable prices. This is a great neighborhood bar with excellent food. The menu changes daily with Swedish standards dominating, but one or two unexpected additions. Everything we've eaten has been great. We had an AirBnb a couple blocks away and we went here for at least 4 meals. We came back (my husband works for a company based in GOT) and the food was as good as we remembered. Wow, stumbled on a beauty with this place. Its like a small pub, actually nothing much to look at but trust me of all the eateries we went to for food and evening out this was amazing. The staff were really pleasant and the food, well there really arnt words to describe it, it was so nice and really tasty and didn't cost the earth either.
